That will not help.

You need the patch files that were uploaded earlier, the only way to get those is via the (non-functional) launcher, repair tool or the files chribba has linked. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=3062840#post3062840

Have you tried closing the client and the launcher and then re-launching? It should restore your in-game settings.

Oh well mistakes happen.

CCP, next time if you are going to update the patcher program, please let us know ahead of time so we can be ready. I am glad I'm off today and could spend the time finding a work around. If I had to work... well, I would have missed out on skill training.

I hope you guys get a fix up soon.

Launcher was being what it is, and the repair tool was not working either. And just running ExeFile gave protocol error.

So, I decided to go trying to fix the repair.exe and got it to work at least on my systems. I needed to get some files from the client.eveonline.com with a system that did wait for long enough on timeouts, put those to a server that's not dead, and then pointed my Windows hosts to that server's IP address.

Files I needed, if you want to do it on your own and don't trust me, or my server gets crashed with huge load, these need to be put on some web server in /patches folder:
http://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt
http://client.eveonline.com/patches/premium_patchinfoTQ_inc.txt

And then you need to make sure the web server thinks its client.eveonline.com and then get your computer to point to that system.


So, what I did, with IP address to my server that now thinks its client.eveonline.com:

1. Edit (as Administrator): %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
Add line: 83.145.200.22 client.eveonline.com

2. Run Eve repair tool

3. Edit (as Administrator): %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
Remove the line added in step 1

4. Run Eve\bin\ExeFile.exe


To edit that file as administrator on Win7, hit Windows start menu, type notepad %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts in the "search box" and hit Ctrl+shift+Enter. If you've UAC on, it will ask for confirmation.

i cant even get the launcher up, says this:

"No connection could be made to the content server. Please make sure that your Internet connection is up and restart the Launcher."

Copy and while launcher will still most likely fail, start the exefile.exe straight from the \bin folder.
