Man, people are dicks when their internet spaceships get interrupted for a couple of hours x_x Ignorant dicks too. Assuming the last post fell off the current page, a repost:

The new launcher was working fine in beta, is working fine now, and will continue to work fine in future.

The reason it can't talk to the server right now is because /the server is down/.

More beta-testing and more listening to feedback and more fixing of non-existent bugs in the launcher /will not stop the server from being down/.

That is correct. Our web servers handling the client update process and version checking (used by the repair tool and the EVE Launcher) are malfunctioning to some degree resulting in long waiting times on requests and many timeouts. As end result the repair tool will often not properly update the client in a timely fashion and the EVE Launcher will show an offline status. According to my information the EVE Launcher itself is not "broken" but the services required by the EVE Launcher are.

Our developers are still working hard to fix this issue.

Here's the explanation:

On May 21 we also deployed EVE Online: Retribution 1.2.4 and the new EVE Launcher. These deployments are not believed to have caused the underlying problem but are believed to have affected its manifestation. Updating the Launcher or the client requires connecting to our currently overloaded web servers and as a result, EVE Online players may not be able to either properly update your EVE Online client, the EVE Launcher, or connect properly to the Tranquility server to play EVE Online.

For anyone experiencing any of the above issues we would like to point out to this thread for further explanations and potential workarounds.

We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences caused by these unexpected server issues.

As a few of the guys have mentioned, if you haven't already tried it :

run the repair tool from your main EVE folder on your hard drive, then,

run the ExeFile application in the Bin subfolder

It worked for me (and others) so must be worth a try.

Thanks CCP for loosing me my quick bar i lost over 200 items i use to trade and make money.
Now I'm going to have to sit for 2 hours looking for the best items i traded in :( i foresee a financial loss of over 400m in that time.

I'm sure some compo is due maybe a titan will suffice :)

CCP Keep the fancy looking patcher that you want to make your game look new edgy trendy and fresh. However make logins work the way they use to because this new **** is dumb.

Failing that

Kill yourself (in game )

I have tried every thing you guys have posted in your DEV post and I still cant get into the game EvilEvilEvil

All I see is "incompatible protocol"

Had same problems; launcher didnt start. Donwloaded the launcher manually, it starts but reports "offline".

Download this zip-file:
http://eve-files.com/temp/eve-update-20130521.zip

Download all, replace file-by-file in the diretory you have EVE installed in. Then start the \bin\ExeFile.exe. THAT worked!

I searched for ever to find out how to patch manually. Got the linky on Team Speak from a corp mate. All those lost hours looking and searching and reading forms and patch notes and....
