I'm getting the Offline Mode message as well.

I tried the EXEfile.exe in the bin folder it started an update download which failed. I then ran the repair tool several times which also failed before completing, but after even the failed repair using the EXEfile.exe in the bin folder did work.

Also had to use task manager to stop 7 instances of launcher.exe and a couple other CCP processes. Restarted my PC and launcher still offline, but exefile.exe is working.

Whelp...CCP broke eve. almost literally. Not as bad as that whole boot.ini thing, but still pretty bad. Getting a fresh install in the hopes that it may FINALLY work. On a good note, I needed to do a fresh install anyway. 60+ patch files. lol

If it were a launcher problem only, then the repair tool would work and we'd all be playing EVE right now.
It's obviously a deeper problem than that, since the repair tool doesn't work either.

Long story short, it seems this would have happened whether or not they released the new launcher, it just so happens that the update this happened on was also the update for the launcher.

Both after 10 minutes of loading (no time out yet weirdly), both links finally failed.

repair.exe reports failures each times it runs (and it's damn slow running, better to say crawling, in fact)

Start up from ExeFile.exe won't let me login due to "incompatible protocol"

PS: Really, this broken launchers seem to be a contagious pest on almost all MMPOGs .... "never change a running system, but when you do, test it sufficiently - in advance!"

***POSSIBLE FIX ***

I had same problem as most.

I came home, and launched EVE... error = Offline mode, restarted alot ;(

Then I startet reading forum for possible solution.

first DEV post, I DL'ed the manual "patch" and nothing happend.

Then someone said kill processes = same **** as initially ;(

Then I read go to eve/bin and run Exefile.exe

but now I got to launcher window with "incompatible version", but said I had to patch, so ran patch, but after it restarted to launcher, and same Offline mode stuff. then tried to run Exefile.exe again, with same result ;(

So now I read that I should run repair.... repair.exe had an update, which replace my repair.exe file with a repair.exe_e2_9tx

so I renamed it to repair.exe and ran the file, it did like 3 cycles, with hash checking and dowload updates, but eventually said finish.

Now I didn't dare to run launcher, so I went back to Eve/bin and ran Exefile.exe agian, and GAME LAUNCHED correctly.

Still haven't dared to run launcher, have to try when I go to bed.

Dear CCP

Please stop adding things to the game without consulting use because you are incompetent mongoloid retards. A few things.

1 ) Your stupid launcher only cache's 7 accounts so if your someone like me with many more accounts than this you have to enter your acct name each time + passowrd.

2) Everytime you want to open another account you have to go through your idiotic launcher.

3) Now when you open a new client and it starts it minimizes all your other windows.


SOLUTION

GIVE US THE A OPT OP BUTTON FOR THIS PIECE OF **** LIKE YOUR ******* WALKING IN STATION PIECE OF **** FEATURE.

Just do the repairtool once and then use the exe-file again. My repair-tool failed when it got to the launcher but since it fixed eve first and the launcher after and the fact that I'll never use the launcher ever again anyway, it didn't matter that repairtool couldn't fix it.

Eve works fine for me now, when I start it using the exe-file alone.


I thank CCP for finally making it nescessary for me to learn how to dump the launcher all together and have a straight link to the exe-file in the shortcut instead. :)

PS: The EVE downloads are slower than you :)

Did not really expect the sudden traffic when I put it up and reddit took the link... have peaks close to 400MBit/s so yeah it can go a bit slow at times... lots of people downloading Smile

You will need the latest patch that was released today in order to log into TQ so unless your call is processed by the web servers and you get in to update, you'd be in the same situation I'm sorry to say :/

Go into your Eve Online directory and run "repair.exe" If it doesn't load, you might wait a few minutes. If it DOES LOAD and burps out an error message, try again. Once it successfully runs and completes it's patching, exit out of the program. Apparently Mac users are out of luck.

Then go into your Eve Online directory again. Go to "Eve Online\Bin" folder. In the "bin" folder, locate "ExeFile". Launch that to get into game. DO NOT use a short cut to launch the game or you will get that stupid "offline" notification from the updated patcher program.

I hope the above helps.

Just can't get it to work. Downloaded it installed it manually still screwed up! Why must you always try fixing something that isn't broke. All you do is break it!

yes and yes. very very slow loads.

still cant connect to game, new launcher installed, it ether tells me im in offline mode and ive restarted it quite a few times or it gives me a long exception code.
