hmmmm i see i am not alone here in la la land waiting for a fix it seems ccp will not agree they need to make. this down time is a small inconvenience, as i can go wash the bike, ride a tank or two, drink a few brews and it seems this will not yet be fixed. Well, as i see this, maybe they can move our close date to accommodate this small mess. (agree not likely)

how to bypass errors:

create shortcut from repair.exe |||

right click on the shortcut and open properties |||

add this to your launch file/directory to the end of repair.exe |||

(1 empty space) --safemode || it will look like this directory/repair.exe --safemode ||

launch the shortcut, after repair go to eve/bin dir and launch exefile.exe

this worked for me and 4 other guys from corp.
its been confirmed that this only works with original install dir.. (not copy&paste files)

This works perfectly.

This is as nice as I get. Best quote ever https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4137165#post4137165

1. Open the Terminal Application or use Finder to work your way to this path:
EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/CCP/EVE

In there delete the "common.ini" file and start the client again. It will start the launcher and repair the client for you automatically.

Doesn't work for Mac, and returns this error:

Verification Failure
Your EVE client installation may have modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please run repair.exe located in the EVE game directory or re-install the game client.
File not found: C:\Program Files\CCP\Eve\common.ini

So I'd recommend moving as opposed to deleting it.

So how can Mac users run the repair.exe file?

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

CCP, for the love of god please post something in this thread to tell us that you are working on the problem.

Our dev teams are indeed working on fixing the whole issue with top priority. Unfortunately in situations like these we cannot predict any ETA and giving a time frame would be very irresponsible. Be assured though that we are working as hard as possible to find a proper solution as fast as possible.

As CCP Guard pointed already to further background information in this news article and in that thread.

Please also accept our apologies for this unfortunate chain of events.

Perhaps this info (Along with what CCP Guard has dropped in on the conversation) should be edited into the FIRST POST in the thread, so we don't need to click through endless pages and every blue post to see what the latest status is?

CCP Guard wrote:
We've put up a thread for possible workaround here as well: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238230&find=unread

Not that there's much to report that hasn't been covered in this thread. At the moment there's no solution that works for all use cases that we know of. What I can tell you is that that investigation into what is causing the massive load issues to our web servers is underway and we're not going home until this is fixed. We're really sorry for all the trouble.

Just sayin....

What I did that worked:

1) found a link to download an old version of the repair tool
2) ran it, when prompted to get the newest version accepted
3) ran repair tool 3x (until successful)
4) launched EVE from the bin folder.

Getting the old version of the repair tool, then force updating to the latest version seem to turn the corner for me. Originally my repair tool wouldn't run at all.

Cheers.

Ran the repair tool 3x before it "worked"

I still get the message when starting the client but it let me in anyways.

Hi, can we get a post on we're supposed to do if we only get 'Offline mode'?

Or at least an acknowledgement on the news page or in this article that there is a known problem?

When exactly is 'soon' for the Mac update? Sitting here twiddling my thumbs watching this thread grow quicker than I can read it...

I'm getting "No connection could be made to the content server. Please make sure that your Internet connection is up and restart the Launcher."
