I have an easy fix. A plex should be 360 hours of game play plus 30 days of skill training. if a person does not play 12 hours a day every day he or she may rollover their hours to next Month. Have a limit on this so it wont be 24/7 botters or afk campers. This will make the game better. People may log out then just going afk running up their electric bill and the internet traffic.
When CCP messes up... the payment is not effected. Because hours of play will go on skilling will go on as used. Now botters would just think they can get an extra plex to add more hours per month. Don't allow that. It cant be right for any one to play eve 12 hours days every day. That is a job or account sharing and imagine accounts that get used for twice as much every day. 360 hours are alot to play with.

You know what? Screw all the work arounds I'll wait until the damn launcher is fixed. We shouldn't be expected to have to figure out work arounds on a product we have been paying for for 10 years now. (personally 5 accounts for 6 years for me)

FIX IT CCP.

First link loaded and second is still spinning failed to load in Firefox.

How again did your quality assurance experts give the green light to this release?

Not that there's much to report that hasn't been covered in this thread. At the moment there's no solution that works for all use cases that we know of. What I can tell you is that that investigation into what is causing the massive load issues to our web servers is underway and we're not going home until this is fixed. We're really sorry for all the trouble.

thx

Apparently the repairtool got fixed to exlude the launcher issues as well... so repair now suddenly works fast for me and it solved my issue already for one client (2 to go, but those seem to go fast now)

Repair, repair, repair and only use exe from bin folder :-)

YAY way to go CCP!

Yet again you prove your inability to take any sort of feedback and just push out garbage for which you are so well known. Wasn't it not so long ago you kept ignoring feedback and broke eve with updates that didn't work on sisi? A couple years prior to that, pushing a horribly broken new sov system.....which was proven on SISI as horribly broken (not only was in involved in the 3 week fight of TCU's dropping offline every hour on there own, but I was one of the people on SISI proving it was broken to begin with). Before that, any major CCP patch was known as "Patch day - start your 30 day skill queue cause you won't be online in at least 7 days!"

I have an idea CCP. Seeing as no one there is capable of listening to beta test reports and feedback, how about you all climb up on your soapboxes, commit seppuku for your repeated inability to function when it comes to NOT releasing horribly broken things and figuring "eh we'll push it anyway and fix it later", then bring in actual PROFESSIONALS for development managers!

Then I bet you things may actually work MARGINALLY as intended at launch and not break EVERYTHING.

PS Hotfixes are okay for small bugs, but you NEVER release something with game breaking bugs, especially when you KNOW ABOUT THEM from beta testing.

I wrote how I fixed the problem at General Discussion. Might help others too.

Step 1:Release a broken launcher update
Step 2:Dont post any information on how to fix it
Step 3:Wait for players to help other players get online
Step 4: PROFIT!

Im usually pretty understanding when updates have bugs and things go wrong with the servers CCP but....I get the feeling that this patch was a bit premature and Im not impressed.

thinking about how much this broken craps costs ! and obiously we are paying to loose our time on the forumpage WITHOUT ANY DECENT DESCRIPTION TO FIX FOR A KNOWN FAULT AND GETTING TEASED BY DEVS!

First link - no.
Second link - yes, fast.

Had the same problem with offline mode. Tried launching with "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe", got the "incompatible protocol" message. EVE client offered me to update, this resulted in no changes, same "offline mode" and "incompatible protocol" messages.
After launching "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\Repair.exe" for two times, I could start EVE with "..\ExeFile.exe", but launcher is still dead.
I'm kinda dissapointed and upset with this update.

I notice with the new launcher that if you type in a new account name (that is, one not already on its drop-down list), the only way to get the launcher to "remember" it (so the drop down works in the future) is to click on the password field.

In other words, after typing the username, do NOT hit tab or return to get to the password field -- instead, mouse-click it. That probably should be fixed -- tab and return should work.

LOL ! Can't believed I missed this one. Oh yeah,.... I am offline mode too. :(

EDIT: Used the, "....bin/exefile.exe," method as a work around to their problem.

It you're having exceptions, then please file a Bug Report or link us to some logs.

Isn't it about time you had a client which supported an automated bug / crash reporting system that collected the relevant errors, crash data exceptions and so on with an option for the user to add additional "constructive comments" where appropriate.
