CCP, for the love of god please post something in this thread to tell us that you are working on the problem.

Our dev teams are indeed working on fixing the whole issue with top priority. Unfortunately in situations like these we cannot predict any ETA and giving a time frame would be very irresponsible. Be assured though that we are working as hard as possible to find a proper solution as fast as possible.

As CCP Guard pointed already to further background information in this news article and in that thread.

Please also accept our apologies for this unfortunate chain of events.

Better idea... TABBED CLIENT! As many accounts as I can manage without the resource barrier of my PC.

I multiblox, and I don't understand what you mean .... I can tab launcher and each client?

..... anyways, back to OP, which is confirming no workaround to launching EVE. Guess I'll go see what this "outdoors" thing is everyone refers to.

How times change. It used to be that this would be CCP's NGE.

Seems like we need to set a long time skill training not only for new expensions but also for launcher patches aswell now.
Seriously, are you guys testing your patches also from external or do you just use your internal connections and think everything is great? This is ridiculous...

Which would work well - if you actually had a heads up that the patch was coming.

can't post your error because I can't post HTML. Fun.

Will post what I can...

Update on my connection issue. I manually downloaded and installed the new launcher and this is what I get.

In addition, I am having problems sending this ticket so it appears you have a ton of problems right now.
The new launcher allows me initial login, but when it wants verification of the account I want to login too, the play button (and all other links in launcher) are broken/non-functioning.

Or you could wait till CCP have an official fix than taking hax from other players which I'm unsure invalidates your ToS in the process?

What hax? The manual installation of a patch and launching the EVE executable directly? The automated process of patching and using the launcher are in no way necessary to play the game or patch it. They just automate things and make the process more convenient for the players and CCP. What people are doing is just giving ways to bypass the currently broken automation by doing things manually in an effort to gain access to the game and it works just fine. If you want to wait, feel free to do so.

What about Mac users? Have I missed CCP talking about workarounds for those of us using OS X instead of Windows?

This is CRAP! Every few days I get a update request... and now it flat out doesn't work.. Quit updating things before they have gone to test mode on a computer of your own!

Anyone in the technical world should know before deploying a mass scale update - it needs to be tested and retested to prevent mass non working programs and such.

Get it right CCP.

I got the offline issues as well, I downloaded the link in the first post and installed the new launcher which did launch however I got a huge long error message.

So I tried the the repair.exe and bin exefile solution suggested by a few other players and can get logged into the game now, for anyone trying this the repair tool does take some time to load then to do its thing but it seems to work eventually.

CCP: I appreciated that mistakes happen and things go wrong however, the lack of communication about this issue is not forgivable. It should not be down the the players to come up with a workable fix/workaround to get the game working, I have spent so long tonight looking at this thread and trying the things suggested that by the time I have finally got logged in I'm in no mood to play Eve anymore.

I solved my "Incompatible protocol" issue by following this:
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238161

At first my repair tool did absolutely nothing - My pc just loaded for a while and then nothing happened.

I then tried to access the links mentioned in this post:
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=3061535#post3061535

First file loaded instantly, second file didn't seem to load at all. I left a tab open for each file and after 10 minutes or so the last file loaded aswell.
From this i concluded that perhaps the repair tool was suffering under the same issues.
I therefore tried to start the repairtool yet again, and then just let it stay open (in my earlier tries I had force closed it through the task manager) - And hurray, my patience payed off. The repair tool started and after yet another several minutes of waiting it started fixing eve.

I can now use the exefile to start the game and log in - No more "Incompatible protocol"!

So in conclusion: Have patience.. Lot's of patience :)

Hi. This is the exception error window I am getting after manually downloading and installing the launcher.

....Well it would have been if I could paste it here without being told I am not allowed to have HTML included...

Oh well, +1 post for me...

What I can tell you is that that investigation into what is causing the massive load issues to our web servers is underway and we're not going home until this is fixed. We're really sorry for all the trouble.

Might it be that thousands of your customers who got stuck with your broke crap suddenly (for some strange reason) got on your website to figure out wth happened?

Why not just reback the update and fix it...
