EVE Launcher update on May 21, 2013

Ran manual exe file as specified in devpost#1
Launcher continuously reports -> Offline Mode - no connection etc ..

can connect to -> https://client.eveonline.com/launcherv3 ... took approx. 15-20 minutes to load
filled in the login info -> [Server:Tranquility(Unknown)] and no eve Sad

can connect to -> http://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt ... took approx. 10 mins

The launcher is fine, their webserver is not. I outlined an alternate way to get the patch contents and get in the game. Car analogies are almost always bad, like in this case.

I'm stuck in offline mode as well.

I imagine bricks are being shat in Iceland right now.

I don't care that Harbingers are bad. I still like them.

Installing a .zip from a forum, even it it seems to work, JUST DON'T!!


This worked:

If you have problems with the new login patch here's the solution:
a) start exefile.exe from the ccp/bin/ folder ... let the update install fully.
b) run repair.exe from the ccp folder
c) start EVE directly from the exefile.exe in ccp/bin and not the launcher or the eve.exe in ccp
note: ccp/bin/exefile.exe is *not* ccp/evelauncher.exe or ccp/eve.exe , those start the launcher and that is *BROKEN* from the new update

how to bypass errors:

create shortcut from repair.exe |||

right click on the shortcut and open properties |||

add this to your launch file/directory to the end of repair.exe |||

(1 empty space) --safemode || it will look like this directory/repair.exe --safemode ||

launch the shortcut, after repair go to eve/bin dir and launch exefile.exe


this worked for me and 4 other guys from corp.
its been confirmed that this only works with original install dir.. (not copy&paste files)

https://client.eveonline.com/launcherv3 is not working (SSL)
http://client.eveonline.com/launcherv3 works perfectly (non-SSL)
Check server load and switch to non-SSL.

would be nice if we had some compensation for the rushed and untested launcher patch?

after all this is wasted game time which people pay for....

What are you on?

point a) takes me to the EVE game login with an incompatible protocol. No download of game content normally expected from the launcher.

Otherwise known as, your instructions are a waste of time.

Ok so patience is the name of this mini game, forget the launcher, bin files and all that crap, just keep trying on the repair tool, eventually it will start to "fix" the client . When complete launch the game and if the launcher does not load and you get the white box , press start eve and the protocol boss will be defeated.
