A new launcher was just hinted at at fanfest as 'something CCP would like to do'.

You don't announce a major new feature like this on the same day you're going to launch it. Something tells me someone was pushing for this so hard that he probably thought he was pushing out a turd on the toilet. Come on people, this is a mistake CCP may have made 9 years ago, but today?

1) Announce this stuff at least 2 weeks in advance.
2) Test it before deploying it and don't shove possible bugs in a "cant or wont" fix pile.

This is a critical feature people need to log into the game and it seems like it's been handled very, very poorly. Shame on you, CCP.

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

That's just it, they've been at it for 10 years and newbie mistakes like this should not happen.

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

I had same problem with luncher (error window and no patch download). EvilEvilEvil

I try many options(clear cashe, repair). but what is work:
i off my firewall
and conect my phone with shared network connection in it
i shutdown my local network connection and start update luncher (look first page).
then it start to check my eve files version and starting update
on 2\4 stage - when it created patch on ~40% it stops and do it again
i try to wait (it sooo long) so i put online my local network connection
and it start update fast as usually
so it download and apply patch
then i just click start in luncher and it work! Cool

so - if it not work - may be you can try use second connection (with shutdown you usually local network connection) Attention

Unable to connect to obtain launcher.

Manually downloaded patcher as advised from official post, then got exception error when running new launcher.

Ran repair tool, still got exception error.


(Cannot quote exception error due to unsupported html protocol on site.)

Cannot submit details in petition in normal web support?!!!!

COMEDY OF ERRORS!!!



Fortunately there are plenty of other MMO's out there I can occupy my time and spend money on whilst this is fixed.

I blame the Goons, has to be a QQ troll-fest development they asked for, can't be down to incompetent developers surely. BlinkTwisted

On your own risk ofc but worked fine for me.

Else many suggested running repair.exe which seems to work in some cases.

If we try on browser guess what... FAILED.

Now, if we try the HTTPS: "https://client.eveonline.com/patches/mac_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt"

Gyess what... IT WORKS. Why don't you fix your crap Windows IIS to redirect the correct requests?? Lamers........

Maybe because i'm also a developer, and these things are bad (yes it is a fail) but can happen all the time. We just have to wait patiently for a patch. In the mean time use this patch http://eve-files.com/temp/eve-update-20130521.zip
