guys stop repairing or doing anything with your client.

it's a randomic serverside problem, CCP has to fix it.

prolly it's too much load to a new service tied with the launcher, wich in turn returns error 503 most of the times.

go to eve folder/bin/ and launche exefile.exe till this thing gets solved.

oh, CCP wish u goodspeed in fixing this, but.. **** happens, ya know!

what if you don't have the latest client version. running the exe doesn't work until you get the update -> why you have to run repair

run repair.exe then start eve via the exe file in /bin

I have 2,48GB patch to download from repair.exe, and was not able to queue as was resuming training in this char from my main. I hope at least they will reimburse (SP's) something ¬¬

Another sweet update by ccp. Why don't you go spam some code in a file named boot.ini about it.

Not claiming to have a fully working fix here - but it worked for me patching up my other computers so if anyone want to try go for it.

http://eve-files.com/temp/eve-update-20130521.zip (it's the files that got modified for me today, 50mb)

Copy and while launcher will still most likely fail, start the exefile.exe straight from the \bin folder.

On your own risk ofc but worked fine for me.

Else many suggested running repair.exe which seems to work in some cases.

This works

Works for me too! Thanks Cribba

This worked for me too!!!! THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN CRIBBA!!!

Adding my voice to the "It worked! Thanks!" chorus. There are still about 31,000 people in-game, so this isn't affecting everyone.

It worked yup. Just unrar the zip file into your Eve folder, and launch exefile.exe.

It Worked qudos for you my man!!!

THIS WORKS.

how to bypass errors:

create shortcut from repair.exe |||

right click on the shortcut and open properties |||

add this to your launch file/directory to the end of repair.exe |||

(1 empty space) --safemode || it will look like this directory/repair.exe --safemode ||

launch the shortcut, after repair go to eve/bin dir and launch exefile.exe

this worked for me and 4 other guys from corp.
its been confirmed that this only works with original install dir.. (not copy&paste files)

Ok, running Chribba's files worked.

Repair.EXE couldn't grab anything probably because CCP's server is screwed up.

Here's the link again: http://eve-files.com/temp/eve-update-20130521.zip

Unzip into your EVE installation, ignore the launcher by running bin/exeFile.exe.

Ok, the old launcher refused to work, so I updated it manually.

Then I got and tried this:
Ruse Lander wrote:
1) If the new launcher doesn't work for you try the following (as others have stated before me):
..... a) Default location: "C:\Program Files (x86)\EVE Online\bin\ExeFile.exe"
..... b) %Your_Eve_Folder%"\EVE Online\bin\ExeFile.exe"

Didn't help, since it led to this:
Ruse Lander wrote:
2) If the game doesn't run due to an "Incompatible (Protocol)", then try running:
..... a) ...\EVE Online\repair.exe

After a while of sitting around in the task manager without much signs of activity "repair.exe" just died. (Errors occurred, see log)

So, here's the log:

Connections to https://client.eveonline.com/launcherv3 and http://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt are either veeeeeeery slow or time out after a few minutes.

Now running "repair.exe --safemode". Aaaaand a window appeared, but I can't start the repair.
...
Oh, after about 10 minutes of no activity at all it's working.

Okay, "repair.exe --safemode" worked. After 10-15 minutes of pretending to be dead.

sure there are 33k odd players online but we should not be put in a position by CCP that we have to circumvent their own launcher to play the game. Only way i got online was the repair then use the /bin exe file like most of the other ppl online. How such a borked patch made it to TQ i dunno, disappointing.

I just want to click on the Eve button, see the launcher, click, 'play' and have the game load and ready to play.

Too much to ask?

1. No, appears to still be attempting to load after 5 minuets waiting.
2. Yes, instantly.

EDIT:

the first link loaded after approx. 10 minutes.
