Thank you very much CCP. I couldn't figure out how to fix the launcher or my repair tool once it messed up so now i have to reinstall everything from scratch. I just love doing this. It only takes me about 3-4 hours to reinstall and then i still have to setup overviews and other crap.

Why can't u make something that works right the first time out of the box?

Really looking forward to Odyseey. Yep Just loving it .

Unable to open https://client.eveonline.com/launcherv3
Was able to open the accompanying txt file.

Repair.exe didn't seem to have any effect.
Tried restarting the client several times from the different executables around, all that happened was that I downloaded and installed the patch half a dozen times.

In the end I downloaded the file from Chribba and soon after that I was able to run C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe

how to by pass errors: create shortcut from repair.exe |||

right click on the shortcut and open properties |||

add this to your launch file/directory to the end of repair.exe |||

(1 empty space) --safemode || it will look like this directory/repair.exe --safemode ||

launch the shortcut, after repair go to eve/bin dir and launch exefile.exe

this worked for me and 3 other guys from corp.

its been confirmed that this only works with original install dir.. (not copyed files)

Sorry,
but I am very angry at the moment.

The new launcher deleted ALL my settings AND my overview-settings.

This, many times this. And don't forget closing all player-made channels

I haven't dared undock to see what my overview looks like yet Shocked

EDIT: Just undocked, and all my custom overview tabs are gone, not impressed Evil

second try:)

Restart your Router and after it is up again restart your PC to get a fresh DNS Table.

alternatively go to your command prompt and type 'ipconfig /flushdns' without the quotes of course.

1) If the new launcher doesn't work for you try the following (as others have stated before me):
..... a) Default location: "C:\Program Files (x86)\EVE Online\bin\ExeFile.exe"
..... b) %Your_Eve_Folder%"\EVE Online\bin\ExeFile.exe"

2) If the game doesn't run due to an "Incompatible (Protocol)", then try running:
..... a) ...\EVE Online\repaire.exe
..... b) Restart the game.

3) If you end up with a "Exception" error window stating, "No connection could be made to the content server. Please make sure your Internet connection is up and restart the Launcher.":
..... a) ...\EVE Online\bin\ExeFile.exe"

If you still cannot get into the game, then you are at the end of my "fix it" experience. Good luck. Be nice. The Devs are trying to make things better for both us² and CCP.

² the term "us" refers to those that are actively playing the game. Botters should not assume they are encompassed within this group.

Not claiming to have a fully working fix here - but it worked for me patching up my other computers so if anyone want to try go for it.

http://eve-files.com/temp/eve-update-20130521.zip (it's the files that got modified for me today, 50mb)

Copy and while launcher will still most likely fail, start the exefile.exe straight from the \bin folder.

On your own risk ofc but worked fine for me.

Else many suggested running repair.exe which seems to work in some cases.

/c

thanks Chribba, worked like a charm!

Launching the game from :C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\exefile.exe works for me.
That is after updating the launcher to the latest version.

This works

Works for me too! Thanks Cribba

This worked for me too!!!! THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN CRIBBA!!!

Adding my voice to the "It worked! Thanks!" chorus. There are still about 31,000 people in-game, so this isn't affecting everyone.

It worked yup. Just unrar the zip file into your Eve folder, and launch exefile.exe.

It Worked qudos for you my man!!!

Right, so I had the same problem.

To fix this, and to get in, run the repair.exe, let it download the 23.5mb and the 6.1mb ****, have it repair, then navigate to your bin folder, run the ExeFile, and it should work. Did for me.
