I usually swallow everything CCP throws at me, either "balancing" or crapnerfing and so on.

This is plain outrageous! The launcher doesn't start anymore, starting eve.exe directly brings the error message that no internet connection could be established, a message that can simply be ignored.

But, all log-in data ist lost, as well as all my igb browser bookmarks, overview settings...

Redoing it for all my chars ist just unnecessary pain! Besides, anyone telling me, that I would have to restart the Eve Launcher....

It doesn't start.... So far, no bugfix for me. At least I can play, but I have to redo all my settings...
And Incursion fleets cannot form up as too many players can't start Eve correctly.

WHY CHANGE WORKING SYSTEMS??????

Please, CCP, do not transform into Apple or Microsoft.... IF IT WORKS, DONT FIX IT!!!!!

You could have at least announced this so I could have made other plans knowing that you screw up the game every time you patch something.

Running EvE through the exe works for me might just change the icon to always do this. Get rid of that launcher forever !

Ok so I'm sure someone has already posted this, but it's worked for me for one client at least.
Run the repair tool as admin
Then run the EVE.EXE in the bin folder as Admin also.
It worked.

Thanks to whoever it was that originally posted that fix, but we shouldn't have to resort to finding fixes to play a game we pay you for ccp !

Mac User workaround

-Right click EvE Online application
-Show package content of Eve Online application
-Go to "Contents"
-Go to "Resources"
-double click eve online app
-It will start the client
-It will tell you "incompatible protocol"
-Wait 5-10 minutes
-A pop up will appear telling you an update is available
-Click update
-Nothing happens visually
-Click your usual launcher icon: Somehow magically, your client will update and start.

Feels like voodoo, but it works ;)

v.2.1.539169 Launcher gives me the following message. 'OFFLINE MODE - You are seeing this because no connection could be made to the content server or something went wrong while loading the online content.'

Running ExeFile.exe opens EvE version 8.22.534348, but the Tranquility server status is: Incompatible (Protocol). It also tells me that i need to update eve; however when i do the update nothing changes.

I appreciate the work you guys are putting into the game, ignore the whiners.

So ran repair tool no less than 10 times...finally loaded the new launcher.
No characters listed so had to re-enter.
Then upon entering game found CCP has reset all UI....to day 1.
UI back to day 1
Chat channels..all gone except local corp and alliance.
hotkeys...gone.

So will have approx an hour of redoing all screens and options to my preferences.
Well done ccp.

Again: It is a server related problem. The launcher works fine, it requests data from the server which does not send it. While I can't be sure that it is a hardware problem it very much sounds like one. See https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=3062006#post3062006

https://client.eveonline.com/launcherv3 is a no go. It times out. Second link is fine.

These services went down because one of Amazon's zones went down and companies didn't pay to have their service split across multiple zones.

Also - in what I'm proposing, the CSP (cloud svc provider) would be CCP's alternate plan. I'm sure we all speak enough math to understand what that would do to the overall system failure rate.

Go to your EVE installation directory and find ExeFile.exe - double click it to PLAY.
My path is: D:\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe

Activate EVE client and play the game by avoiding Luncher and be happy you still have boot.ini!
