EVE Launcher update on May 21, 2013

Both clients toast and 19 attempts at repair fail. Thank goodness the POS's were refueled last night.

Update: Repair attempt #23 actually started... fingers crossed that it finishes.

Now to get the @%@* Steam installed client to do the same... try #1...

Impossible to launch own other accounts from old shortcuts on desktop!

I had for each my account own shortcut so I can launch it fast and I will have right account name in client when I start right shortcut. And now if I launch any of my 15 accounts, I get:

OFFLINE MODE
You are seeing this because no connection could be made to the content server or something went wrong while loading the online content.

Tranquility server: Status unknown

And doesn't matter if I launch them from bin folder or not.

Your launcher is crap and only good for players with ONE account.
So why you advert all the time buddy program and other "second account" if you not support of using more accounts at same time? I pay 2700 USD in a year for YOU CCP EVERY year, and I think ONLY on MY money you can pay few normal developers and not idiots, and I want for my money professional service and not just crap in all patches, especially when some idiots from CCP compleatly crash all good and worked thing and change them on new crap, and here I mean your crap launcher and crap reballance there you simply modify 8 years OLD ships and simply manipulate with ships bonuses and atribute and not create NEW ships with NEW bonuses. This database changes doesn't worth for me 2700 USD in a year !

This worked for me, but had to run the repair.exe before it, otherwise it would just go to launcher again and again.

Same thing happens to me. unable to download remote build error pops up after the offline version of the updated launcher comes up. I can log in and see the news ticker and whatnot. but the option to play is still grey and flaccid. Question

Not claiming to have a fully working fix here - but it worked for me patching up my other computers so if anyone want to try go for it.

If the straight exefile.exe launch does not work and showing incompatible protocol you could try this file.

http://eve-files.com/temp/eve-update-20130521.zip (it's the files that got modified for me today, 50mb)

Copy and while launcher will still most likely fail, start the exefile.exe straight from the \bin folder.

On your own risk ofc but worked fine for me.

Else many suggested running repair.exe which seems to work in some cases.

Cheap is as cheap does. Why bother paying for QA people when you having lemmings paying YOU to do the testing?


Becouse:
- Their income is at least 750.000 $ / month ..
- We are customers, before anything else and we want to receive what we paid for
- A respected BIG company never ever turn his clients into testers


But they know that we'll stay here no matter what ... nobody wants to loose millions of SP/ISK, the addiction is well printed in our brains, we start eve when we wake up to check the market/POS or whatever ... as well as we start it before sleeping to check the skills queue.

Anyway, I'm not here for long ... it's my 3rd attempt to play eve in couple of years ... let's hope they'll fix it soon and besides this, let's all hope that they will learn something from it, mistakes happen ... we're humans after all. Trolling +50.000 players it's very disturbing for a big company as CCP.
