At the minute we get a remap every year to adjust attributes could something similar be implemented where skill points could be altered / tidied / reassigned. I don't know if this is even possible or if it would be a no no but just an idea.

The reason why there are no remaps for skills is quite simple, when you start a character you need to make a PLAN for that character, so if you start to load up useless skills that you will never use...Well that is your fault for following your own plan... I have to support the rest on this.

This idea is a no go.

the big reason, is that since there is no "skill cap" in eve and you can theoretically learn EVERY skill to 5, there is no reason to "get rid" of a skill. since "perfect builds" only exist on characters made expressly for the character market.

you took the opportunity cost and trained a skill you may or may not ever need, but you trained it, and you can use it, so deal with it, your character has a wider range of possible abilities, i dont see why you want to get rid of that.

(i mean heck, in most games people complain about their characters getting pidgeon-holed, only in EVE do peopole complain that they CANT pidgeon-hole there character)

This gets brought up a lot. Usually once a month or so. It's like PMS.

The responses vary, but can generally be summarized as:

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.
