All the cruise missile & battleship changes coming in Odyssey have made me want to try creating a fit for that ugly old ship the Typhoon, right now just for missions, however I'm absolutely awful at this and need some help, here's my first attempt at it, any help would be very appreciated.

Drop the cap recharger for a Heavy Capacitor Booster, drop the LCDCS rigs for Large Warhead Rigor Catalyst rigs. Use a DG/CN X-Large booster to solve your CPU problems, you can then switch the power diagnostic units for whatever you want, ECCM, Signal Amplifier, Damage Control, maybe fit some arties and tracking enhancers.

I would go with an armor tank for the Phoon as that gives you lots of room for utility.

Those faction shield boosters are a bit too expensive for me, I'll be armor tanking it then, I'll also change out the rigs.

The new Typhoon has a bonus to explosive velocity, would fitting 2 rigor catalysts + a loading accelerator work?

Thanks for the quick reply.

Oddly enough, 2x rigors and a flare. If you insist on a BLA, then you must use a BLA II. (A BLA I would get stacking penalized into nothing.)

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Holy stacking batman jesus

Surely there is a better use for those low slots than the 4th ballistic

Even just a damage control.

You're right, I didn't think about that, the ROF bonus from rigs probably doesn't stack too well with ship ROF bonuses, I'll swap it out for a flare rig, or maybe a calefaction rig?

I've updated the fit, check the first post please.

If you're ok with a 3 slot armor tank, 4 CN BCUs, a BLA II, and 2 Flare Is is the optimal Typhoon setup.

Ed: That tank though.... it looks kinda thin to me.

I'm an idiot, don't mind me.

Definitely, I tested it out on the test server and it was a disaster, I'm going to try fitting a shield tank again, I think I can make it work it'll just take some trial and error.

A 4 slot armor tank should be fine, but shield tanking with 2-3 painters may work even better still.

Yeah 4 slot armor tank is minimum I'd go with full t2 modules.

1 DDA would probably give you better dps than the 4th BCS even with just hobs

Alright I'm back, I've updated the first post with a shield fit, I was also able to get a target painter on there as well.

This is what I'd run in your shoes:

Typhoon
6x Cruise II
100mn MWD, Hvy Cap Booster, 3 Painter
LAR, RAH, 2 EANM, 3 BCU
2x Rigor, Flare
4x Bouncer II, 5x Warrior II

If you want to splurge on T2 rigs and faction damage mods, switch out to a BLA II, 2x Flare1 setup.

-Liang

Ed: For a shield fit, you could do something like this:

Typhoon
6x Cruise II
Pith C-Type LSB, 2x Invuln, 2x PWNAGE
4x CN BCU, 2x DDA, DC
BLA II, 2x Flare I
4x Bouncer II, 5x Warrior II

I'm an idiot, don't mind me.

Hmm I could try something like that as well, I guess at this point I'll just have to switch between two fits and see what I'm most comfortable with, thanks for the help.
