Destructible jump gates + seed ships

In areas where players hold sovereignty, I think they should be able to lock down their jump gates by putting up their own. A person having been given authority from the ceo would be able to change requirements for each jump gate in their possession allow jump gate usage based on standings for anyone not in the alliance.

They could be opened with force if a player hacks them but it will show up in the alliance tab that it has been. They would also then be closed by another hack from the same or other player. Hacking on either side opens/closes both.

It would require a new capital class ship that could warp without the need of a cyno. Probably made by SOS, this ship would serve two purposes.

Firstly it can produce a gravity well on a sun's grid and for a select number of ships in the fleet, that have agreed to come along, pull them with it in warp to another sun. This jump would take time to activate and would show up as colorful rings around the star systems start and end paths while selecting them would display the start and end destinations along with the mass that is going through. The ships that are attached to the seed ship cannot log off or warp away and are committed to following the ship, the process cannot be cancelled unless the seed-ship is destroyed.

Secondly it has a special bay for a jump gate array that can eject jump gates. After being deployed they would go online after an hour of waiting and then after downtime re spawn in their correct position.

I bring this up because I think all structures should be player owned and not invincible

That and I thought it might be an indirect way of dealing with cloakies which I see as having no real solution other then a major change in game mechanics.

If you really wanted to throw a curve ball you could start building jump gates in wormholes.

I so want to make a crack about Stargate: Universe, but I just can't because this kind of makes sense.

My thumbs are prickling, though.

Gate campers are just Carebears with anger issues.

Hey that was a good show other then the fact it sucked compared to everything else in SG

Why do you want places to rat and build supers where you will literally be invulnerable, and how is this balanced?
