I agree with clocky camping. Done it my self and sufferd my self, no big deal. Why people complain? Couse there is nothing to counter it, like other modules.

Energy Neut=Cap booster
ECM=ECCM
Clock=2km range

The list go on. So in a way, clocky should be bit more risk, its the freeking soul of the game been risk off getting killed.

the point is that if there was a counter to that, less people would get killed and space would be more secure for bears in deep 0.0.

better cloakies be safe than the entire ratter population

Its funny how the whole premise of the "AFK cloakers are bad and should be stopped" argument is based on these carebears feeling unsafe while trying to mine or whatever in their lowsec/nullsec system

lowsec/nullsec = unsafe as a standard operational condition. YOU SHOULD NOT BE 100% SAFE ANYWHERE IN THIS GAME.

My arguments have been based on the fact that you have in viable ways of finding the cloaked ships not to minor security issues the cloakers cause.

And if this was rl you could find the cloaks and criminals would be criminals for life instead of some stupid tags4sec system.

oh yeah this was also my turn to bumb this one. There has been a number of new cloaky threads amerging from the coldness of space.

After centuries of debating and justifying... Break Cloaks tm

there is a diffrence between being a sitting duck to someone you cant do anything against but he can kill you whenever he wants and no matter what you are in. if you fail to see that is a problem you are lying to yourself

and riddle me this how can a person that is AFK at work or asleep or whatever the f*ck he is doing be effective in the game to active players

Can't ignore what, that you and all the other Nullbears fail at Eve? Cloaking isn't broken, fluffy carebears in 0.0 crying because they don't want to PvP when they're not ready for it is a waste of CCP's time. It's also probably why they're not responding to these troll threads.

Why can't you do anything against him? The millisecond he drops cloak he's a target. Does he have some special devhax ship that is invulnerable to all your own weapons? No? Then you're not in a position where you "can't do anything", you're in the position where you can instantly open fire on him. Cloaky ships tend to be pretty weak too, which will help you.

Or is your complaint more geared towards the fact that you're alone, in a minmaxed PVE ship, facing a PVP fit ship that potentially has (gasp) allies in fleet ready to jump in?

Cos if your complaint is based around those things (hint: it is) then cloaking isn't the issue. The issue is your own attitude and playstyle, your own corp/alliance, and to some degree the cyno mechanics (which are basically being used as a way to 'skip' the local notification of a big fleet - oh wow look at that, local rears its head again...)

It's this 100%, for all these crying Nullbears and their Threads demanding CCP change PvP to be in their favor.

They will ignore it. They will ignore it because your post does not address the cause of the cloaky camping: local.

Sorry.

Actually, he may kill you if the opportunity presents.

For example, if you 2-3 of you showed up to rat in that system you'd likely not have too many issues, especially if you worked together and fit your ships with an eye towards PvP vs. simply tanking the local rats. Stealth bombers are very fragile, so 3 ships tanked for PvP would actually be a bit of a problem. Granted you probably couldn't solo all the rats in an anomaly, 3 of you could. Yes, your isk/anomaly would go down but you'd probably do the anomaly faster. And less isk/anomaly > no isk/anomaly.

So there is something you can do, you just don't want to do it.

Oh, and don't rat in a bling boat. At the very least even if you do die it wont hurt as much.

If the people complaining about AFK cloaking had even the most minuscule shred of intellectual honesty they'd answer this one. They wont of course, which in itself indicates that the above is true.

So the problems are:

1. You are in a ship suitable for high sec mission running where the only real danger is a war dec or the occasional suicide squad if you have an ostentatious bling boat.
2. You are doing your "stuff" solo, probably not even on comms.

Both of these problems are solvable by the player.

1. Change your ship and/or fittings.
2. Get on comms and actually socialize with your alliance mates.

The last one is really key. They may not be ratting with you, but if you do get into trouble you'll be able to yell for help much, much sooner. And help may arrive in time. But if you are afflicted with cloaky campers, then I'd really urge ratting in a group. Yes, you may not maximize your isk generating but you might...gasp ...have fun talking to other players in game besides the chat channels.

Ignore what exactly? They have been wanting to get rid of local for years, they just don't know how.

Oh and bump.

So the OP has no more room, and they just keep coming back these threads....like herpes....

Anti-Cloaking Module--A ridiculously OP notion that a single module can cause heat damage only to cloaking devices on a ship within 128 AU. Creative backstory to the module though...
Cloak Hunting--Suggests a new module for hunting cloaked ships. Completely ignores the issue of balance....as usual. Gonna add, this idea, if the local issue is addressed seems quite interesting. Alot like the POS module decloaking beacon but with more player effort/input and even encourages cooperation. Not a bad idea...if the intel aspect of local can be addressed.

Updated....

Why is it that people who want to do "something" about AFK cloaking almost never discuss the issue of balance or local?

Because balance isn't their primary concern. They only look at the game from their perspective and fail to see the whole picture.
