Assets API Cache timer borked?

Doing some testing with assets and the cache time seems to come back every time the same as the current time. I haven't worked on this code a bit and it was working fine last week. I save the cachedUntil time and don't run the API call until current UTC time is greater than that. Something messed up or am I doing it wrong? What?

Actually looks like all the cached until times are borked...

there is quite a large amount of API borkage going on over the last couple of weeks
