Idea: Make T3s Harder to Fit, TIA

Dear CCP,

With the proliferation of T3 hulls all across EVE I think that one of the things that is causing this plague is that they are too easy to fit. Here are some of my ideas on how to cure this disease and discourage people from using T3s.

1) If you are not sitting in the ship, have the cargo space be 0m3. This will prevent the quick loading of ammo or implants or charges in several ships you may be building.

2) Have the auto-fit button automatically adjust the subsystems at the same time the other modules are being changed. As soon as a subsystem is removed then the whole process is interrupted and the ship can be left in a half-built state. The current alert box option to disable the swapping of subsystems when pressing the "Fit" button needs to be removed.

3) I think the above two changes would be enough to drive people insane however there are several other measures that can be taken if people still insist on using T3s. Perhaps not allowing changing of subsystems at POSs for example.

These changes should be implemented immediately to make the game just a little more unplayable for T3 pilots.

Far as I know, 1 already happens. 2 is just dumb. You don't discourage people from flying T3s by making fitting them irritating, you do it by encouraging them to fly something else.

I think they've "proliferated" because they're just so much better than hacs and command ships at their job. Oh, also, skillpoint loss when you die in one. I think that penalty is just fine for how good they are...

Several Dev's plans to make any fitted T3 weaker than it's T2 counterpart for that role, depsite being 10x more epxensive and risking SP on death, is sure to encourage players to fly something else. i knwo several people who ar elooking forward to not having to worry about supplying the amrket with their T3 products after THAT change, and im sure null will lvoe how everyone prefers flying T2 over T3, moongoo and all.


TL;DR, OP: As much of a troll as your post is, CCP already ahve plans to make T3's a pain in the ass to fit/fly/own, so no need to worry, everyone will be ditching these ships soon enough

There is a certain offensive subsystem that gives 100% bonus to missile dps when all other offensive subsystems give only 40-60%. Fix it and T3s are fine.

btw if u "fix" that sub then what will be left from tengu ? at perfect skills & imps 300-450 dps (thats ur40-60%) on T2 HML ? 420-630 on T2 rage HAM at 25km ? i'll racall u that T2 missiles doesn't have good apply of dps on cruisers & frigs &
unlike most of the turret ships which uses rigs for defence . missle one uses them to apply dps or to extend range
so maybe before talkin' about tengu u should try to fly one at first

He doesn't like that they're easy to fit. Apparently there's a subsystem that makes moving things into the fitting window much faster than with other ships.

They should be much harder, because time spent fitting ships is totally what makes or breaks someone's choice in what to fly.

CCP will be bringing Tech 3 skill bonuses in line with other ship skill bonuses, and balance overall Tech 3 power and toughness to be between Tech 1 and Tech 2, similar to where Navy ships lie.

If anything, Tech 3 ships could use more versatility options. Once they have their much-needed power nerf, they will no longer be the solopwnmobile that they are currently, and instead will be a long range deployment ship like Marauders were originally intended to be. Just as tech 3 materials come from wormhole space, so should the best use for tech 3 ships be in wormhole space.

I think CCP already announced allowing subsystems to be changed at POS fitting service, so that'll be another large step in the right direction.

Actually, lower than Navy ships.

Yes and we all see how marauders turned out.

add on to that, who would EVER fly a ship for any reason, that would for one be outclassed easily by a ship less than half its cost, and two you lose days worth of SP everytime you die?

fact is, when they bring T3's "down to an 'appropriate' level", no one will fly them, so the only money from wormhoels left to maek will be farming blue-loot.

but of course this is all jsut to support CCP's "nullsec industry best industry" plan, since moongoo T2 will now be the only ship worth flying for anything.

This post was written to highlight the problems with fitting T3s with respect to other ships. in a sarcastic manner.

As it stands now when you press auto-fit there needs to be an option (like with rigs) that doesn't switch around the subsystems unless you hit "ok" and if it does switch the subsystems they must be fully switched *before* switching out any of the modules.

If these two changes are made then fitting T3s becomes a hell of a lot easier, bringing them inline with other ships.

As it stands now T3 auto-fit is useless. Please fix.
