Greetings.

In celebration of a new forum I have decided to do an update on my booster production guide to version 1.1.

Recent CCP speculations indicate that this field possibly stands to gain a lot of interest in the "near" future.

Oh, and thanks to the people who have send me appreciation for the guide; it keeps motivation up.Big smile

Thanks. I was just looking for this link to post on the old forums, as the topic came up there.

I have a question about one of the points in the guide - you mentioned that every booster comes with a base chance of .2%, .3%, or .4% of getting a side effect - this is contradiction the official Eve Wiki which says that boosters come with a chance of 20%, 30%, or 40% of obtaining EACH side effect (you could potentially receive them all) How did you arrive at the .2% ?? Is my math or understanding wrong??

Thanks for the clarification...

Right, I just copied that information from the EVElopedia which (as usual) should not be trusted fully.

"0.2%" of course means 0.2 = 20% in CCP mathematics. I will fix that, thank you.

You should add the generic names for the ladar sites.

Chemical Labs (easy type)

Gas Processing Site (medium type)

Distribution Base (hard type - low sec)

Production Facility (hard type - null sec)

Hello,

Why do you never discuss the pure part of the booster in the guide?

The pure part? Could you elaborate?

http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Standard_X-Instinct_Booster_Reaction

Products:

15 Pure Standard X-Instinct Booster
95 Water

From my understanding you need to use the pure *booster type* to manufacture *booster type*. Yet the wore "pure" appears 0 times in your guide.

I call it 'raw' instead of 'pure'. It just seems more appropriate for the production process it passes through.

Oh, and read the chapter "Setting up a Production Line".

I think I see now.

To a player who didn't need 100% of your guide* I tried to do a search for the word "pure" to find the information I needed. After all, that's what it's called in game... To my dismay it was not there.

*For example, I don't need all the gas cloud mining stuff due to opportunity costs it'd be more efficient for me to simply buy and transport the gas cloud products.

Myyona, after rereading my posts, I don't want to give you the impression that I'm a total whiner and that your guide is terrible; that is far from the truth.

I've used your 1.0 guide, and have downloaded the 1.1 guide for use. I really do appreciate the guide and will continue to use it. Thanks for the guide! :)

You are quite welcome. The amount of guides on the topic is not exactly plentiful anyhow.Blink

Good update to a good guide (even if you are spilling our trade secrets X). One nitpick I have is that you didn't include any of the special boosters like the Nugohevi Blue Pill (Caldari Epic Arc) or Quafe Zero (promotional item) anywhere. Sure they're not very significant, but they are around.

Oh I did write about those in the update.P

In the beginning of the Boosters chapter I added:
Quote:
There exist boosters for providing eight different attribute increases in four different strengths giving a total of 32 different boosters to manufacture (a few extra odd booster varieties appear now and then, but none of these can be manufactured by capsuleers).

I could perhaps have clarified it further, but this guide is not really that much about consuming boosters but the booster production process. And from that point the Quafe Zero and Nugohevi Blue Pill are uninteresting as they are not produced from gas products and how they are otherwise obtained is way out of scope for the guide.

why is it everyone feels the need now days to post guides for EVERYTHING

what has happened to the days of guarding your knowledge so you keep the upper hand most of the time

i swear if CCP made secret that gave you uber god like powers if you warped to certain plaints in a solar system in a certain order there would be a guide on the forums on how to do it with in a week of someone finding out...

you don't need to tell everyone how to do everything...

there's no one forcing you to share info you find that makes you isks/has that uber fit... so why would you do it...

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

Hehe, do not worry. Most of the "tricks of the trade" has been omitted from the document. This guide is simply just a start for all those people who never were around when booster production got introduced.

Oh and why to make a guide? Because it gives you street creds.

There's nothing in here that isn't readily available in the game for one that looks, the usefull part is that it's all nicely collected and easy to reference. Kudo's for doing all that work Myona ;)

The real 'tradesecrets' of boosters are still very much hoarded.( I know I am hoarding some :) )
