I started a corp not to long ago and have pretty decent standings with a lot of the Amarr NPC corporations.
I recently had a couple of friends join who can currently only do lvl 1 missions. I was under the assumption that if your corps standing towards the NPC corps was high enough, the higher level mission agents would become available to all members in the corp. could someone elaborate on this for me to gain some understanding.

It's about the individual standing of the player dealing with the mission agent, I think. What you can do is get higher-level missions with your agents, fleet up with your friends to run them, and share the reward, which will improve their standing with the agent upon completion. If they're flying your wing on Level 3 or 4 missions, they should build up standing very quickly to get to Level 2's on their own.

Thanks for the Help. I was not aware that me fleeting corp members while doing lvl 4 missions improves their standings as well.

If you turn in a mission while you're in a fleet, you get the option to share the rewards or keep them for yourself. If you pick share, then the ISK, LP and standings are shared among fleet members

As said.

Corporation to NPC Corp/faction doesn't mean that all members can run higher level missions.

YOu have to run your own missions and take people with you in the fleet.

Corporation standings to NPC Corps can be used for stuff like Jump Clones. Faction standings can (or actually ARE) used for POS anchoring.
