Lots of good ideas in this thread, not a single elaborated dev response.

I am counseling myself to trust that they are reading, that they are debating what to do amongst themselves, and formulating a response. I want to think they do care. This rather than them sitting around angry with the player base, not caring what we think or want, and simply planning to force through their vision regardless and under the opinion that we will adjust or just go away. Time will tell.

PS: YES, I am still hoping they will make my Abaddon lol.

"it should not be oppressive"

I thought oppression was the point of the battleship.. ;-)

Except, the changes are all Rise's pet project, and Rise is the one monitoring this thread, so if we dont like it, and the rest of the balancing teama sks "so what do they think, any suggestyions?" his resposne wll be "they love it, they cant wait for the changes, theys ay its the best theyve ever seen", and no one will bother to check because :why would they:.

I have yet to hear anyone support the insanity that is Mega Beams being near the same cap draw as Tachyons (5.8 versus 6.1 cap per second for a full rack with new Lg Energy Wpn tweaks).

Are we all in agreement that the only thing more ridiculous than weapons drawing this much cap is that Mega Beams cost the same as Tachs?

As a rookie pilot, developing a skill plan that will allow me to not only sit a battleship but fly it well, the proposed changes to the Amarr line up are worrisome. Should I have started with a differing race for faster access to better ships for L4 and PVP brawls?... NO patriot of Amarr should be be required to bring farty poop sticks rather than holy fire to divine battle for want of capacitor...

As a fellow Amarrian, I understand where you are coming from. How can I, The Great Beast, the very form of maleficence, conscience foregoing unholy fire for fitting ... ugh ....

However, that is exactly what I recommend you to do. Seriously. Don't wed yourself to Amarr hoping that the devs wake up one day and see the light, no matter how divine your divine light is. Their wakeup call could be 1 year from now, or more than likely, never. Do what I did. Train up other guns and racial hulls. I personally can now use hybrids and artillery, and fly all three of the inferior heathen race's ships.

And let me tell you this. When I first fit my first caldari ship, I almost fell out of my chair laughing at how easy it was to do. But then I bought a gallente talos the other day, and it made fitting a caldari ship seem like a joke. I made literally NO COMPROMISES with fitting this ship. No ancillary current routers. No powergrid modules in the low slots. No cpu modules. Nothing. I was able to fit 3 large shield extenders in the mids (something I couldn't come close to in another ship at my skill level), fill the lows with dps modules, fill the rigs with whatever I wanted, and even use a drone bay to boot.

Just do it.

I haven't seen an arty baddon killmail for while, but fine.

And for what reason do you use arties on your baddon ? Because of cap or because of alpha ?...

And why don't you use Maelstrom in the first place ? I suspect it's because of the resist bonus...

Would you really use beam baddon instead of arties if cap and fitting weren't a problem ? I seriously doubt it...

Would I actually fit my own racial guns if I had a real reason to, instead of distastefully fitting Artillery?

Hmm, lemme think about that. Yeah, pretty sure everyone would.

They use arty on the Abaddon because arty is brutally overpowered, and our weapons are brutally underpowered, both by comparison and in a vacuum.

Hm lets take a look... Longrange neuts and drones for the geddon.
Yeah this totally looks like a big gang ship, where a couple of more kilometers on the neuts and drones are a big factor in the engagement, as opposed to small gangs where long range neuts would be total crap to catch kiters and drones which can apply their dps even to smaller targets.
Yeah the geddon changes were made by someone who cares about big blobby fights.

Awesome suggestions here

Why is it that a random players suggestions are way, way better then what ccp has proposed? How has this ship balancing gone from so good to so terrible.

After the patch we're giving the market some gentle supply restriction, like tying one wrist to the bedpost loosely with soft silk rope. Just enough to make things a bit more exciting for the market, not enough to make a safeword necessary.  -Fozzie

They're using them for the resists and it's probably easier to fit an armor tank than on a Mael. Either way, they're not fitting a PG mod and going around using the supposedly OP Tachyon's in the blob (with the 25% ship bonus), so what problem are we pretending to solve by keeping them, and mega-beams to a lesser extent, impossible to fit flexibly like every other weapon?

I still don't understand the logic behind the apoc becoming the attack Bs, isn't that more the role of a ship that's, suppose to get close because of it's bonuses (aka geddon) instead of one that has it's bonuses in applying damage at a range . The title isn't the cause of my dissatisfaction, but the signature radius and speed that comes with it.

actually, no, the role of Combat hull from all of these tiericides is being kept to the "Brawler" hulls, those meant to go in close.
Your Attack role hulls are meant to make use of range (and at least on the non-BS) some maneuverability and such. I'd recommend an MJD on the Apoc to help with this aspect.
