^nid is better than the thanny in both cases.

But the Thanny gives a damage bonus. It also scales up to the Nyx. I guess its personal choice but in the large scale fleets caps are getting tossed in regularly it doesnt matter much either way.


Niddy is also more likely to be first primary if I had to choose between a Nid(weaker tank) or a Thanny(better tank and more damage).

This is possibly the most important reason to avoid the Nid.

At the moment supers are just extra big carriers still with their associated normal carrier bonus. Anyone who uses them for logistics work (WTF didnt CCPs fix this when triage was removed?) is missing the point I suppose - some doctrines might require it, although who the hell uses up all their cap in a super to provide minimal reps when its better served with Remote ECM, Neuts and Smartbombs - and large cap transfer to assist with your gang getting out again.

Then you have Aeon/Wyverns real bonus - cap range. Both the Hel and Nyx suffer in this respect, just that the Nyx brings real DPS to the table, the Hel is the worst by far. Meanwhile the supers who rely on their passive tank - get a massive boost with the resist bonus - remember - their a big tank, and if getting RR it matters immensely.

To the OP. DONT get a Nid, really, forget it, and the Hel. They are crap and CCP seems to know it - they seem to know the archon is king, the Nyx is everyones choice for its DPS - and racially the Moros Blabfest wins, the armour RRfest survives, the thin tanks with no bonuses gets nuked (go Nid go, primary that Minmatar ship, it will die faster).

Minmatar capital ships are fail - I'm hoping the new Nag will at least provide relief in at least one respect, but its still shield tanked in an armour world, with no real bonus to help in that respect. Luckily dreads aren't really about RR.
