Need to keep up with the times, Storage space and internet bandwidth are not a problem for a lot of people these days. The people playing EVE, and most likely the people downloading the hi res pack, will be people who this applies to the most I would think.

If someone messes up adding the hi res to their install, well isn't it handy the launcher acts as the repair tool, yes would be a big download, but not like the user would struggle to fix his broken eve client.

They said on multiple panels that they really want to do this. I hope they can get it done sooner rather than later :)

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

Slow indeed, but consider most threadnaughts are full of back and fourth conversations. This is almost all unique visitors, almost 400 in total. That's a lot of support!

YES for option to download high res textures.

I'd also happily download nebula skyboxes for all constellations/systems.

Yeah ... and then there are still lots of people who are suffering from fanfest,
or still on their way home or some on weekend-vacation ... so it'll keep growing for a while! :D

hey if it would be an optional download and since they claim most of its already done it would be free to dev .. Why not ? would love to see the game the way the artists intended it to be seen, in all its glory
