As a new starter to the game obviously there is ALOT of lingo and slang that is difficult for a n00b like myself to understand, does anyone know of any existing links, posts etc that would help to explain this to me?

Any help would be much apprecieated

There will be no central database for all terms in EVE... and many groups often use different terms for the same thing. It's better to find a group you can run with and ask as you go along.

this one is good. also, if you ask on the forums or in the ingame chat, you will usually get a good response. there is a lot to know about eve so people won't blame you if you do not know something.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Its worse than that.

If they call Sentry carriers 'Boots', they are - or were - CFC. If they are affiliated with PL, the same thing are Slowcats.

'Blues' are friends. 'Reds' are enemies.

'AHAC' is a general term for armour tanked, small signature ships, which can include ships that arent HeavyAssault Cruisers, such as Mallers, Fleet Issue Stabbers and Lokis.

'Alpha' is the first volley of a ship - its niot about the damage per second, but how much damage can be poured in on an instant.

'Logi' are the space healers. 'Logistics wings' often are the people who do transport.

'Supers' are motherships and titans.

Hope this helps.

This.

And some things speak for themself, others, just ask what they are. Most people are very happy to explain what it means.

ISK the Guide has a glossary in it. And a whole load of other good info, despite being somewhat out of date.
