Zombie Robot Aliens

So, with all the dead bodies floating in space in all of New Eden for thousands of years and the popularity of zombies in media, I thought why not have space alien zombie drones? Or is it better to just call them Drone Zombies?

In the deepest, darkest reaches of space, so much conflict over eons has produced so many frozen corpses. Where do they go? Do they become floating space junk, burn up in the atmosphere of nearby planets, or decompose to nothing? Well, it was recently discovered something collects frozen corpses and brings them back from death for mysterious purposes.

Investigation is ongoing to discover who or what is removing bodies from space and why. Rumors of an undead army of humanoids have surfaced recently on a few remote mining outposts, but other stories seem to discount them. Another report suggests research companies prefer these subjects due to nobody asks questions if they are already dead... as long as the hive drone link is severed in time.

My guess of how the zombie drones came about is.... A rogue drone consumes frozen corpses and gains knowledge/memories, eventually gaining the ability to re-animate the dead. The drone becomes self-aware or at least gains memories from brains of recently dead (a la movie Warm Bodies). Drone parts are used to give corpses mobility, once re-animated.

I'm pretty sure that there is one of the eve fictions "chronicles" that relate the drama of an infested ship, and as some drones consume human flesh to improve their body. Go read some : )

Fiction - yes
In-game - no

Where are the zombies? Or maybe this is already planned as World of Darkness.

Aliens are only ever hinted at in eve, in a few missions, and I think could be a little immersion-breaking if actually implemented.

the problem with becoming "self aware", is that the drones in the game already kinda are, thats why they went rogue. theya rent self-aware into "oh i like blue better than brown" but self-aware to "why am i listening to this ass telling me to fly towards gunfire?"

also, space zombies...?

Read the sanshas nation stuff, thast your Borg/Reaver baby nightmare fuel for ya.

also, REAL QUESTION here, why should zombies be included in ANYTHING just because "its popular in media right now"? thats how settings and concepts become cookiecutter bland and stale, because then everyone is doing it and copying eahcother, that eventually there isnt any flavor.

as for aliens or anything else ebing involved, no, and for several reasons
1) doesnt fit with EVE's theme, and thats Human conflict, aliens would make it us vs them.
2) What species intelligent enough to be capable of easily traversing space without stargates would simultaneously come within visual range of the New Eden cluster? its filled with immortal ******* psychopaths throwing nuclear ammunition at eachother like its the funniest thing since the invention of bubbles.
