EVE New Citizens Q&A

Greetings everyone.

I bought a Destroyer last night after making some ISK.
Right Clicked on my current ship and selected something in the line of ..." buy this..."
I paid the 1 Million ISK but no ship!!

It was late, so I logged off but it's bugging me all day.
My balance showed the deduction.

I read somewhere that sometimes you can buy something that is not at you current location and that it will be there waiting at the station you bought it from.

No worries , I thought, my assets will show where it is waiting for me. But it doesn't.

Was I scammed or just plain stupid? Is there a way to "track" my purchase?

Again, EvE is teaching me a lesson the hard way. Read everything.

when you buy items on the hisec markets the only way to get scammed is to overpay. you either accidentally set up a buy order (you can see your orders in the 'orders' tab in your wallet) or you accidentally bought the ship in another station. also, you do know that ships go into the ship hangar and not the items hangar?

Bear in mind, there's a short delay in the Assets display - it doesn't show fresh acquisitions immediately. But the delay is a matter of minutes, not hours.

The completed transaction should show up in the "Transactions" tab of your wallet, not the "Orders" tab.

You can also search your assets for either the destroyer class type (e.g. "Cormorant", "Algos") or possibly under the more generic "Destroyer" (I think that'll work, but I can't be sure without checking the client, which I can't do during the day).

It's probably in your ship hangar, but you will need to "assemble" it before it appears in it's own row under the ship hangar display (if that makes sense).

Click on the ship hangar, and it might be sitting there, with a little "1" on the icon. You will need to assemble it before you can fit or fly it.
