Medium railgun fix

Replace 250mm Railgun with Dual 250mm Railgun (keep large ammo to make it more exciting and keep damage balanced). Keep fitting requirements, signature resolution, and tracking (might want to buff it a little) from 250mm to the Duals, keep the rest from the duals.

The high performance medium rails are more viable now. Rearrange 150mm and 200mm accordingly

Have you ever used medium railguns?

So you propose to fix medium railguns by outright replacing them with large ones?

It's like you actually read the OP!

Yes, with some tweaks. We all know the only ship you'd fit dual 250mm rails to at the moment is a dominix, and only low SP characters do that. Considering the upcoming Dominix changes, it'll probably be fit with autocannons in the future.

So, dual 250mms will become extinct. Here you have a fix to buff the concept of medium rails on par with other medium sized weaponry.

The hybrid 'dual' weapons are just the smallest weapons available in that class. It's just the name and graphics, gameplay wise they have nothing in common with two weapons mounted on one carriage. There was a thread a while ago about buffing the low-end M and L turret weapons, but thats not what you intend to do.

Your arguments make hardly any sense. Thats like saying, lets ditch 650mm arti and let ships mount 1200mm arti instead.

And yes, i do use hybrids.

The problem with rails is they bring nothing unique or useful features that are actually USABLE to the field.

Difficulty is, I don't know how to correct that.

mainly as support weapons, before the t1 buff there where some viable vexor pve fits with dual 150 - now its easily possible to fit 200mm - or the already mentioned dominix.

More tracking for these types would be good.

The idea was that the dual 250mm has stats which would make it decent to fit onto a medium sized ship. Medium sniping platform such as eagle and tengu (and vulture to some extent) lack weapons. Make said adjustments and they'd have something to shoot with at least.

They're some sort of middle ground between beams and arties when it comes to ammo and cap mainly. I don't have any thought through idea on how to make them unique. This only deals with an immediate lack of decent medium sized railguns. Also, this fix is slightly more fun than just buffing the current mods imho
