no, KI. you are win.

hey, so how many people have you known who caught the aids from someone they met at an aids awareness event

how is it that 8 out of my 9 years in the us military were during don't ask don't tell, and the one person I knew who died of aids got it from a guy he met at an aids awareness thing

Honestly, I'm not sure about "meet cute stories" from many people at all.

All I know is that pretty much everyone I met when I was 'out' at 18 in 1983 is gone. And a majority of the people I met in San Fran in 1995 when I moved there are gone too.

Edit: The worst was in the mid-80's when we started burying people from High School whom we had no clue at the time were gay of course. Finding out that way is pretty hard.

Seriously, hardly any personal connections to the past, at all.

It's kinda shocking I'm still sane, tbh.

Its not really with being gay , its with the .... activity they do.
Male , male information exchange *cough is more of a 2 way exchange due to the.... insertion of emergency induction probe into the exchange ports .
While for male , female interaction , its mostly a 1 way exchange... so yeah... there you go

Why are we talking about aids again?

Be a cool song, have a strong chorus of singers, that slowly lose voices over time, till all is quiet.

Maybe even good enough to be put in the lion king hopefully.

From a purely medical standpoint. The way they do it and the frequency greatly increases the risk of transmission which is why the "group" is so overrepresented.

The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity.

Wrong again.

Plenty of straight couples engage in that particular 'activity'. Lots in fact.

This is why it is so prevalent in Africa, as doing it that way is not considered actual sex for those wanting to cheat, and to avoid pregnancy (remember the Catholic charities that work there do not distribute condoms).

There is no activity that gay men do that straight couples cannot do.

Most who get it now are actually straight drug users who share needles.

Condoms are an easy reliable prevention.

This just in.
The infection case has crossed the 50 mark and is now spreading south towards densely populated commerce hubs

You sure pounced on this one guns blazing... Regardless it's not about who can or may do what. It's about what people are doing and how that relates to the probability of infection and in that regard men who have sex with other men is a group that is at much greater risk of receiving and spreading the infection due to many factors.

On average, homosexual men have more sex partners than women or straight men. It's also the nature of the act itself and that the fact that the colon is more very susceptible to infection that leads to them having an easier time receiving the infection and then spreading it. It's not homophobia. It's virology.

Now if you want to accuse the HIV virus of not being politically correct or for being unfair then you are free to do so.

Honestly I don't know what are we arguing about Straight
Isn't the fact that homosexual man generally speaking have a MUCH higher chance of being infected with STDs in their life an already agreed upon fact ?
And what does this have to do with the flu?

Medically yes but a lot of people are lashing out against the "gay man's cancer" myth of the 80s by jumping on the throat of anyone who dares to make a correlation between gay men and HIV.

Politics will spell the downfall of the human race someday .
The Jews uses the holocaust as an one for all excuse card.
The Yanks uses 9/11 an WW2 as a shield to all their autonomy intrusions.
The Chinese uses the 7 nation invasion days as an excuse for their racism .

Ohhh mankind .. why do you let me down?

This is exactly what happens when straight women in Africa without protection get it. It has nothing to do with the exclusivity of 2 men.

Edit: or promiscuity. It just takes one time.

Because it turns out it was running rampant in Africa among primitive tribes long before it made it's way to New York City. We were just one of many vectors.

^ ^ ^ This is what brought it on. And I pointed out that promiscuity does not have to be involved.

You're hung up on the possibility of infection as if it was a binary 0 or 1 formula when there are many more factors at work.

The probability of infection is multiplied by the number of partners a person has. The nature of the act itself multiplies it further.

A woman is a lot less likely to spread the infection than a man is which means that every woman in the chain slows down the spread of the infection when compared to men infecting each other. What this results in is that certain preferences and behaviour greatly multiplies the risk if infection.

To dismiss promiscuity as a factor is ridiculous. Yes it only takes one time to catch it but by taking that one risk a hundred times you certainly increase the risk greatly.

Promiscuity is one factor that amplifies the risk.. Man on man sexual intercourse by the way it's practised is another factor that amplifies it.
