Just a short thought...

What's the likelyhood that the gunman in this mess is one of the Dragonaur that underwent the broker's surgery in T.E.A...

Driving a wedge between the federation and matari would certainly be something they'd love to do.

Not indicative of corporate policy unless otherwise stated.

Glad I am not the only one that thought that.

The Dragonaurs are radicals, They wouldn't simply surrender due to being outnumbered. They could do far more damage in a fight to the death then by simply getting arrested. Death before dishonor and all that.

remember though that the ones that were changed by the broker were altered down to their very DNA.
By being captured they could do a lot more political damage than by fighting to the death.

if it was a dragonaur, and their intent was to destabilise the gallente-matari alliance, they would likely be far more successful if they were captured and questioned... as if their heritage was put to the question even a genetic test would show them as Gallente...

though there are likely some telltale signs that the DNA has been altered, much like a capsuleer clone.

so.. TL:DR, in a single fight he could do more damage fighting to the death, but in the larger scope, being captured may hurt more.

If he was dead it would reveal the same thing, they would do a blood test and check his background. Same result with more casualties.

he couldn't spread disinformation that way though...

the dragonaur may be fundamentalists, but they aren't exactly stupid... in their opinion the more damage they do to the alliance, the better. letting one of their number get caught to expedite such an outcome seems like something they'd do.
