I'm really concerned about the direction you're going with command ships, what with giving them combat focused roles and with forcing them on-grid.

If you're going to give a command ship a focused combat role you're going to have to nerf its EHP pretty heavily considering how ridiculous some of them can get.

A standard T2 fit Damnation can reach 240k EHP without even boosting itself or getting boosts from anywhere else. This is also with T1 rigs and no implants. If you want to give them a combat role you'd have to nerf this if you want to keep the ship from becoming overpowered.

At the same time if you force them ongrid with a nerfed tank you're going to have problems and a tremendous amount of complaints because these will become the ships that die first in any engagement. Fleet boosting will become a thing of the past because they won't last long enough to help except in much smaller engagements, or engagements where you have a significant number advantage (and that's DEFINITELY something we want to avoid).

The only way I can see you dealing with this is you either create a ship that can fit the same tank it has now only if you forgo fitting weapons and if you fit weapons you can't do fleet boosts or fit said tank, or people will just start making entire fleets of command ships just so that their enemy won't know which ship is giving boosts and I don't think that's something we want to happen.

Very easy solution, give a hull damage bonus of 100% and drop high slots in half, hey presto, you fit links or weapons, not both.

Well, pretty awesome news. Frutix looks boss. Very nice to see the navy ships brought up to par with T1!

But why still that awful camo? :sadpanda:

Haven't we complained enough, it's just so terribly inappropriate and chav for navy spaceships.

Not a ship remodel; it's going to look like the Brutix but fly like a Myrm.

Which is imho just lazy. I know art assets are very resource-intensive, but a T2 Myrmidon that looks like a T1 Brutix is not really ideal.

Still, I have Eos hulls waiting patiently for that day, for a T2 Myrm is definitely the ship I want to fly in everyday PVP.

Pure awesome. I don't care what it costs. I get my Hurricane back. A shame my old researched BPO for the hurricane doesn't make the one's I'll use anymore. But at least I get to fly them again. . .And Iove the camo paint jobs.

Camo'Caine.

I'm so happy. P.S. Please don't wreck the RF Typhoon, (i.e. do what you did to the standard 'phoon)

Actually this was announced in devblog 6 months ago.

Also I think that "under its skin" doesn't mean that all Myrm lovers will get Eos hull change.
Just leave Myrmidon (also Ferox and Prophecy) hull to pirate battlecruisers. Cool

Agreed, since playing this game never ever flown a drake yet, even got a few for free and immediatly sold them all.

A missed opportunity indeed.

Then how about using the Myrm model for it? Shouldn't be too hard to add a few textures and link the ship ID to another model?

Finally after 8 years of waiting we get a 8 ml Drake to match the model.

Such a pity its a flying turd with 2 really useless bonuses.

Swap 1 of the useless bonuses I care not which to the 5% resists per level of the standard drake and It would be half decent and something to get existed about.

By this I take it you mean "a bloo bloo it's not good for doing anomalies"?

Because as a PvP ship it's a big bag of murder

PS: It's obviously designed to be either a HAM platform or a long range skirmish drake. Both of which it will be awesome at.

No by this I mean boo-hoo a 250m Navy Faction BC that will get owned by its standard variant.

Only if the pilot is an idiot.
HAM navy drake can easily kite a regular drake, and it can use any damage type equally. Navy drake will get 25 km range with Rage and 30 km with faction HAM, whereas the regular drake will get 20km with faction and 30 km with Javelin at significantly reduced DPS. Rage with 8 effective launchers (navy drake) > faction or javelin with 9 effective launchers.
It also has more tank than the regular drake.

The standard varient with 1/3 less range and that's slower so it can't control range?

OK.

Looks way to expensive if the 180-190 level is true.
