Hi guys,
I've decided to get into a lot of PVP on this character and since I join RVB there isn't as much danger of losing my clone, so I'm looking to spend some cash. I've been looking into the different pirate sets and I can't seem to decide if I want to go for the slave set for armor or the snake set for speed. I will be flying Gallente so I was kind of leaning towards armor bonuses.

Do you guys have any recommendation on what would be the most beneficial for mostly frigate and cruiser pvp? Thanks.

I would pick speed in case I fly something like a shield Thorax.

It's less about the implants for me and more about the freedom to use the pod express to move around the world. I haven't been podded in 2 weeks and even then I could probably have warped off if I really wanted to.

But then why would I want to paddle 15 jumps back to the base to re-fit and re-arm when I can just self destruct the pod and warp there and be ready to met up the rest of the fleet.

Paddling through gates in a pod may very well net the same result anyway. Not like you can MWD your way out of a gate camp in the pod.

The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity.

If you like flying ships with asb's go crystals and use a blue pill, you can get insane sustainable local tanks using 2 asb's with crystals and drugs.
If you like armor buffer ships go for slaves.
If you like fast kity stuff go snakes.

All depends on prefered style, better yet, instead of getting one HG set get 2/3 different LG sets for around the same price.

Totally this, I have a HG slave set on my RvB char (not this one), and while its nice, really would have like the options, especially when your learning and what to try new things.
Also people lose their pods in RvB all the time, either from WT's, some nub who shoots you by mistake or fits smartbombs, or just some folks out for griefing those they know to have billions stuck in their head. So if that does happen at least you havent lost everything

With a jump clone you could have both.

Start the day off slow and taper off from there.

Thanks for the reply everyone. I do like the idea of having 2-3 lg sets, that makes a lot of sense.

You don't need a full pirate set to get some good performance. For speed, I've found that a good combination is 3% Navigation and Evasive implants (NN-603, EM-703) and Zor's Hyperlink (5% boost to AB/MWD). That leaves you slots 1 through 5, 9, and 10 to tweak at your leisure.

some people have more expensive clones than others. mine costs 45m before any implants are plugged in. I'm a cheap b*stard so i'd sooner gate to gate and give myself a chance :p

I have many different implant sets but i have to say the most useful clone i have has genolutions fitted + cpu implants in slots 6 and 10. rest are for damage or navegation. I find them to be far more useful than crystals or slaves. have considered a snake set tho
