Luminaire. You may want to remove the Titan beacon, since, you know, it's not in orbit any more.
I did wait until after DT next day just in case it was not an omission.

I don't know if the live even's team and the storyline contents writers ever get to sit in the same room, but I wish you'd get on more.
Seems to me you could do with getting your guns pointed in the same direction. Just a single viewpoint observation.

I thought the Luminaire event was fine, but I don't like the news blackout after the event was "over".

We sit in the same room on pretty much a daily basis.

All the live events you see happening are organized, created and scheduled based on a storyline narrative brief that we receive from, and discuss with, CCP's storyline team.

The Caldari Prime event suffered from a few things.

The #1 issue was getting a ton of people concorded when there was some sorta scripting/error. This occurred directly after CCP opened the flood gates to 2000.

The 1400 cap was pretty low. Given the expected turn out CCP must have had for this, and the tons of hype, I feel like this could have been higher. We had 500 on just one gate waiting, so I do not believe all players could be accommodated, but combining the 1400 cap + a hardlock was very impacting to those who wanted to attend. I spam clicked for 15 minutes before we got people in to tell us what the cap was so we could just wait until it fell.

The predetermined out come. This completely ruins any immersion a player has for these events. I am not myself an RPer, however knowing a fight is fixed is pretty hilariously discouraging to anyone.

CONCORD wasn't an error, it was the unfortunate timing of flags expiring at that precise moment and not repopulating fast enough due to TiDi and the vast influx of people in the system. You can feel the cap would have been higher all you like, but the reality of the situation is that raising it would have been massively detrimental to the event. Also your numbers aren't quite correct - the cap was 1k, raised to 1200 (resulting in 1600 getting in due to timings), then raised to 1400, then 1500, finally to 1800 (resulting in 2100 getting in due to timings). After the first spike to 1600 we weren't expecting, we had to stabilise the system before letting anyone else in which took a pretty long time.

I haven't yet had a chance to take part in the current live events beyond dropping some supplies of for Caldari Prime after the battle, but I do have one request. Give us some closure on the Arek'Jaalan storyline. Even if its just in new items. When Dropbear left, the previous live events team kinda just went inactive without bringing the storyline to a close. Ideally, I would like to see that storyline reactivated, but I understand that this may not be possible.

Okay, that one niggle still irritates, but I'm just now discovering the fantastic work you've done in other areas, especially graphics.
I applaud you.

Will be sorted in today's downtime. Glad you like the graphics! Big smile

If the outcome is a ton of people dying when they shouldn't have, that is an error. The flagging system did not work to the clients fast enough. I get you guys could not have tested that, it doesn't change the fact a ton of people are now disenfranchised from the first event they tried to attend. (Goons had not previously attended events since the MS wayyyy back, because we caught CCP volunteers cheating)

My point is this, if you want to massively hype events where you KNOW you cannot accommodate the players attending, and you have not tested the systems you will be using fully, perhaps you could have sub fights on the gates to get in, or flagged multiple systems, or really any solution other than locking players out for the entire event.

How is that not an error? "The mars satellite crashed into the planet instead of orbiting it, but this was not an error it was the result of the satellite going exactly where it thought it was supposed to go because we forgot to convert meters to feet". It's not suddenly not an error because you know why it happened.

Its not really an error it just falls under the rather long and illustrious '**** we should have seen coming' catagory

The edge is REALLY hard to see at times but it DOES exist and in this case we were looking at a situation where a new feature created for all of our customers was being virtually curbstomped by five of them

It's not an error, it's something that happened. For instance, if the pilots shooting had had their safeties set, they wouldn't have shot. Intention doesn't really come into it here.

"Not fast enough" implies an error condition, does it not? A corner case to be sure, but an error none the less.

There was a failure, yes. The above mentioned "unfortunate timing of flags expiring at that precise moment and not repopulating fast enough". :nitpick:

Orite, I forgot to write to the feedback thread.

1) Gallente/Minmatar current storyline is way too much fun for a computer game, I'm having a blast.

2) As a minor point of criticism, I really hope the complete lack of sensible strategy by the Minmatar NPCs (enter Colelie with a cap fleet when as an attempt to extradite one individual from central Federation and when you know opsec has been compromised, WTF Republic Fleet?!) will be eventually explained with further information about either how high-sec battles between empires work or about everything not being what it looks like. Because I'd really like to think our Fleet is even remotely competent if they want to be, even if the Tribal Council is full of morons. ;)

The concept of 'competency' from the NCP's is kinda lacking in all the live events, honestly. I suspect that is because part of their primary role seems to be to explode to provide entertainment to the players. You can't have the live event fleets be too competent or the players trying to kill them will complain about the devs being too 'OP' or favoring themselves over the players. It's a strange situation.

Yea, I get that, and I really have no big gripes about them not being ubergood or overpowered fighters in space. It's just it would be nice if the strategy they (incompetently) attempt would at least begin to make some sense. And that has been possible in at least some previous events, so I have some hopes there being an explanation here too. (Even if it is just "they did not really have a plan beyond show of force". Shows of force without a slip of sensible strategy happen. They are stupid but they do. ;))
