NPC

The tank of some NPCs is also slightly weaker now.

As someone who runs a fair amount of missions, surely this should be the opposite way around? Unless its aimed at tanks in the higher grade plexes or level 5s (which i rarely run), i fail to see why any npc tanks needed reducing.

Yay! Another extended downtime. Asia/Pacific pilot here, yet again loving the interrupted flight time. Can you roll patches out in someone else's prime time?

I don't understand why it takes 45 minutes to restart a server even after a small update. I only have 45 minutes to play before work and if I play less, I need PLEX's less (I live on the U.S. East Coast). If I need PLEX’s less, CCP loses income. I may even lose interest in playing Eve and play a game on a more stable platform. Sad

It could be that they are talking about the tanks of some NPCs in COSMOS/storyline/epic arc missions. Some of these have much tougher tanks than standard NPCs, especially the battleships, which can take a long time to grind down...

You would have them work in the middle of the night, just to accommodate you, eh? Suggestion: move to Europe. ;)

ship target lines, is there anyway of turnning them off?
my older carector has none but my later ALTS STILL HAVE THEM RUNNING AND I CAN NOT TURN THEM OFF

target lines are bothersome while in combat

Target line can be turned off in the overview settings menu, misc tab :)

Extended downtime ?

All I'm saying is it's always the Asia/Pacific players interrupted with patches, never anyone else.

Why don't you move down under, enjoy the sun and the surf, and experience the interruption of downtime?

I have to work out of hours to ensure my clients are not off-line in business hours, perhaps CCP could too...

unstable servers ?
well. persistent with some 30-60k players online all the time.

i would think 30-45min DT is ok.

at least we rarely ever have waiting lines, crashes in the middle of the night (prime time) and we can all yell at and insult each other and be sure to maybe eve meet each other. although sometimes I wish i had my own server-shard to play on.

How's that work then? For us EU players, the downtime falls right in the middle of the day; I fail to see how this is more convenient for us than first thing in the morning, or last thing at night. Still, most of us manage to not whine about it.

It is irritating when the scheduled downtime is extended by 200% without warning. I have been sitting here for almost an 30 minutes with no proper explanation. Is this a typical Tuesday morning? CPP didn't even bother to offer an explanation in the EVE window this time. At :29:00 it said [59 seconds remaining] and I've been sitting on the edge of my seat since.
A very important rule of business is setting proper expectations, and CPP failed it this time.

Really ....

EVE is a global game, someone is going to get the short end of the stick, and having a random update scheduale, as you are requesting, would just annoy more players. Might as well annoy one group, then all groups of people around the world. You could always move to a different time zone ;)

Regardless, they're going to have to have downtime and some people are going to get affected. CCP has player data spanning almost a decade. They know when the peaks and valleys are in online player times. Stop being impatient and if you don't like it, don't play. The DT has been around the same time since I can remember and most of the time the DT is short as hell. Welcome to the game.

Patches happen during DT and DT is almost always the same time, so yes, the same group of people will likely always be affected. Sorry you live where you do, that's life on planet earth buddy.

That's the second suggestion I've had to move, I like where I live.

Actually a better method would be to just have the servers restart once a week with updates for 1-2 hours... Would this not make more sense? That means one timezone only gets stuffed around once a week...

Used to work at an ISP and morons that were in too ******, remote rural areas would always call in crying because "no one" can provide them service out in the middle of nowhere.

No one picks where you live but you, assuming you're an adult. You don't like the **** that comes with it, then move. Don't expect the rest of the world to change and accommodate you. The majority of EVE players aren't Asia/Pacific TZ playing on Tranquility, genius.

I do like how at 11:58 they extend downtime to 12:00

As for the Asian players, it is a shame that You couldn't play a trial of this game or something where the downtime would have been noticed..

So your solution is to do the same thing they do now (weekly, scheduled DT) except to extend the downtime to 1-2 hours every week? Are you ******** or did you just not get enough sleep?
