Ship Calibration Skill

A new skill to either:

Reduce calibration needs of rigs (by up to 25%, 5% per level)

or

Increase ship calibration

Purely because I want both sentry damage and hybrid damage rigs on my Navy Domi

Just selfish I know

Would require balancing as you really wouldnt want 3 SDRs on a Domi (well I would but you got to play fair)

Posted from mobile, hence brevity and lack of proper argument

Could be interesting. We already have fitting skills for other resources.

It might require a rebalance of calibration costs, though. There's a reason rigs have limitations in the first place.

Sadly i think it would probably present more issues that it would 'fix'

it would probably lead to a lot of T1 ships being able to outperform their T2 counterparts because of the extra rig slot and the freedom to fit whatever you wanted.

It would also be just another "must-train" skill.

Rigs, ship calibration and how to offer more diversity in it has been discussed a lot over the years. Suggestions have been made to increase ship calibration points at the cost of rig slots, or vice-versa.

How would one go about accomplishing this without screwing up ship balance even more?

The short answer: You don't. It's best left alone for now.
