seeing as ccp is working on scanning in the next xpack, why dont you go ahead and fix/remove local

Your going to be actively working on the scanning code why not, make it replace local and map as the main Intel tool.


There will be 3 types of people that post in this thread.

QQ I like easy no work Intel. People

Do this now CCP. People.

The isd that kills it by locking it/moving it to F&I.



The last type is a sub set of the first.

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

Replacing local with something substantial will need more than just some scanning changes.

the thing is you can't remove local as intel tool. but you can replace it. First they have to provide the replacement, later we can talk about removal of local as intel tool.

the feature list of the summer expansion can mean anything. lets wait and see till we get at least a devblog so we know what we are actually talking about

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

And yet it will most likely involve scanning as a large portion of it, sooooo what better time to start than while there all ready playing with the scanning code.

See that's the point, they Would replace it and stop local being of any use much like WH local your only in it if you talk.

The point is not to remove your Intel but to make it so its not 100% ALL the time.

As of right now the moment I enter a system I know your there u know I'm there and we both know whether we are a threat friend or foe from a simple glance at local. That needs changed, and that involves a new ACTIVE way for people to gather intel, that will more than likely involve the scanning system.

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

your gates can still be shut and you still can't claim so in them and there still the only place sleepers are found.

So your still a special flower.

The reason you need local chat in Null sec is because you can be hot dropped by cloaked ships from many light years out, and which could not be picked up on dscan. So your idea is simply stupid.

And I've also lived in WH space for quite a while so am quite comfortable not needing local chat.

Perhaps try listening to people who know what their talking about in future then you might not come onto the forums making such embarrassing posts as you did above.

ISD and the phrase ' I like easy no work Intel' don't go well together I'm afraid. If you want to find out I urge you to apply.

Unfortunately you are right about one thing, this thread gets a lock.
