I find the drones to be a little too dumb.

I would like to see a bit more control over the drones such as:

Set drone attack range: (This setting could be in the Drone menu settings)
10km
25km
50km
100km
All

by using this a pilot can better choose which type of guns (Blaster/Rail)
This would not limit the attack range just keep them a little more under control.

When my drones decide to fly 80km out to a new pod I get a little upset.

Example:

I can equip Rail guns and set my drones to 10km.
Now I can focus my long range weapons on targets while my drones work on ships close in.
I would still have the ability to send my drone to attack a ship 80km out but after that ship is destroyed the drones would return to the preset attack range.
