Okay, so I have move two alts into null sec for making money, and this girl will probably end up joining them to rat her sec status back up. Plus, she is a better combat pilot to begin with! So why not?

Anyways, I've moved out to Syndicate space since it's closest to the space I know most. It's decently empty most of the time, and I made some decent ISK. My question is from a purely PvE standpoint: is Syndicate worth it? I keep hearing it's complete crap to rat in and the complexes are ****, but I'm legitimately curious.

Leadership is something you learn. Maybe one day, you'll learn that.

A lot of syndicate is like -0.01 truesec, and being npc null, no pirate detection array.

It is crap space, people live in Syndi for the lifestyle not the isk earning, you scratch an existance not earn a living.

I'm sure the plexes are the same as anywhere else, and serpentis deadspace loot is pretty good. Shadow Serp stuff ranges the gamut from crap to quite good. Of course, you won't fix your sec status much scanning for plexes. As for the anomalies or straight ratting, I would expect the place to be crap, at least in comparison to other regions, going by truesec.

Don't forget lvl 4's either. Assuming you don't die to locals, the rewards should be pretty good. At one point many years ago I did missions from the mordus station in pure blind, and they never gave me combat missions outside of the agent system. Note: I am not actually suggesting anyone go mission in syndicate. The profitability, enjoyment, and likelihood of death all vary person to person.

been living in syndicate for quite some time now.

Problem with syndicate in regards to PVE is that syndicate is more of a pvp region than anything else.

For pvp you need some income, but depending where you live in syndicate there better areas and worse areas to do pve in.

have a look at dotlan map and try and find some seclude area with a big dead end pocket. theres a few around there, that migh be worth looking at. if you have several toons then thats good cause you need scouts in adjesent systems to scout out.

another thing is, as some has mentioned the sec rate is not that low, so you dont get that many good rats. also as its NPC null you dont have that many great anomalies, howecer doing the mag sites can be worth it aswell. as sigs respawn when they are done, they might end up spawning in an area where you cant do them, e.g. pipe systems where theres often traffic or close to regional gates where theres a lot of gatecamps and probes out, if they spawn in theese systems and no one can do them they clog up in thoose systems until they respawn elsewhere.

How ever doing sites before dt is better as theres less activity.

but expect all neutrals to be hostiles and want to hunt you. have safespots, scouts and cloak on your ships. its possible but be cautious about, also wouldnt adice on using BS as they are harder to travel around in, use hac or t3 with covert cloaks, bring ekstra mods and subs if you need more dps. i know a guy though that use a black ops to rat in, he cynoes his blops into the system directly and doesnt have to travel thru gates.

if you want more intel on syndicate have a look at the fail heap site http://failheap-challenge.com/showthread.php?9850-Syndicate-This-Is-Why-We-Can-t-Have-Nice-Things theres alot of posts there so go to the last ones
