Wouldn't go so far, but my first VHS copy was the Director's Cut and since then I get pissy when someone plays the VO version.

I remember reading that just about everyone was miserable on this project, not the least of whom was Harrison Ford.

Very likely some of the cuts nobody else ever saw since (they speak of 3 cuts so far, and of Ridley having to do one more himself to get it "right").

I hate the VO too. Ridley was essentially forced into using it, so he had the dialogue badly written and asked Harrison to do a bad reading in the hopes of sabotaging it into rejection. Didn't work.

The "Final Cut" is amazing with the totally reworked dove flying off released when Batty dies and flying off into a bleak setting instead of into a clear blue sky (while it's been clearly RAINING).

I've only ever seen the Final Cut and I agree it's awesome. And yea a voiceover at the beginning would have sucked balls I agree.
