The one true fix for EVE

Disclaimer:
-I'm sorry if this has been posted before - I searched quick and couldn't find anything
-I've been playing EVE for 3 years but I'm still a mega-noob, please don't call me out on my lack of knowledge
-If you're just going to be a bittervet, go somewhere else. I want helpful posts

NOW...you've all seen the EVE trailers...you know...those ones where massive fleets that are incredibly organized all launch super cool timed missile volleys and whatnot...but we all know what a big fleet fight really looks like...lots of colored squares. If you're like me, you long for those amazing fights that look super cool and aren't just insane colored square clusterf*cks.

I know how to fix this. How you ask?

Wing Formations.
Trainable skills that allow a wing commander the option to activate a "formation", giving bonuses to all members in said formation, and also soft locking them into a physical pattern.

Let's go with a step by step example.
Bob trains "Sniper Formation I" which gives a 2% bonus per skill level to all formed members' accuracy falloff and turret tracking speed.
Bob then gets in his Naga along with a few friends, they meet at a gate with Bob being the wing commander, Bob clicks "Sniper Formation" and all the nagas arrange into a dope ass V formation. Now they all have +2% to the afformentioned traits. Also, all of the nagas are now "locked" to Bob in this formation, and will automatically fly wherever Bob flies. Get the idea?

Now when a huge fleet fight happens (or even a small one) the ships will be much more organized, the tactical options will be much clearer, and everyone will feel badass.

BUT ROBERT HALYCON, THAT WON'T WORK BECAUSE:
shutup and let me explain
-A formation can only fly as fast as its slowest member. -This will be shown on everyone's speed UI
-If anyone in the formation is affected by webs or whathaveyou, they will break out of formation and lose the bonus.
-If you break out of a formation, you can attempt to "rejoin" when within 2500m of the Wing Commander
-A formation is only as agile(maneuverable) as its slowest member. IE a battleship formed up with a frigate can't just orbit within 1000m at 800m/s like the frigate can.
-This will NOT dumb down combat by having everyone just auto-follow the wing commander...we know you all just orbit at optimal and overheat all mods anyway. It will instead make things MUCH better by allowing pilots to focus more on tactical choices with their mods, and introduce the entire new mechanic of BREAKING FORMATIONS and having to attempt to REJOIN your formation. **** yeah that sounds so cool.

I know I'm probably forgetting to mention a million things but hey, here ya go, this will open up a billion options for EVE players, will fix the **** out of fleet fights, and will make everyone feel way more badass...which I feel EVE needs a bit more of.

This is a poorly thought out idea that has been brought up on more than one occasion.

Each player must be responsible for their own actions.

The FC can only be responsible for giving the orders, each individual must choose to follow them and do so correctly.

organisational is what separates the better Fleets from the lesser. if you give command of this all to one person, then you may as well let him control all of their guns and drones as well. and fleet battles can become an rts for the PVP elite.

on top of that fleets really do not need balance skewing bonus'

Edit: fleets do also already use 'formations' of sorts by having anchor points (objects or ships) within fleets. it's not as cinematic as you'd like but it is about effectiveness not looks.
