Tattoos for the face, but not for the arms/upper body?

So I was doing some thinking lately, mostly about the character creation,
I don't know if I'm wrong, but there was that one time at Fanfest, dunno if it was last year or the year before that,
but they were discussing the threat about the body modifications where you could add tattoos on your face.
And if I remember correctly, they came to the point where they were talking about adding tattoos for the upper body or arms..?

I can be wrong on this, but beside that, it would be nice if they added this feature when they open the station for us, instead of only being able to walk through our captains quarters. (that red lighted button that say that the air is not decontaminated for capsuleer use..)

(I hope I posted this on the right part of the forum and under the right rules.., I'm kinda new to eve)

The idea of Walking in Stations, or as I call it Getting Out of Spaceships, is dead. It was dead on arrival and may never have been alive. People talked about it, but more out of curiosity than for necessity, which may have mislead CCP into making plans for it. It is probably better to stick the project into DUST514 than into EVE Online itself.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

:)

For your sake I hope they add those upper body tattoo's a bit sooner then when they open the station for you.

But yeah, I've seen those tattoo's as well. Not so sure what CCP's stance is on the abomination that is the nex shop these days. Looks a bit like they left it behind.

In a few years, when everything else is done, they may focus on WiS again out of a lack of anything better to do.

WiS is not dead, just merely on a back burner Blink

You're correct. It was on the test server a while back - I used them on an alt here.

I'm a fan of WiS/avatar exploration etc. Hope they put some effort into it at some point.

The flame on the back burner has been extinguished for some time now.

It is in so far dead as it has caused a protest up to the point where it led to lay-offs. I am sure that the project has got a better chance to find a new home in DUST514, but why try to put it into EVE Online and take the risk again?

Nothing has changed for me. I still do not want it and the protest was not about an over-priced monocle. Lol

It was for some people. I talked to quite a few people at the protest and I think you'd be surprised at how many were actually there because of pricing and not because they existed as MTs in the first place.

Oh, I was there, too. We could not believe the sheer amount of vanity presented to us. I still do not understand why this is needed for EVE. It is truly horrible and makes no change to the PvP experience. To me were the high price tags rather obvious and not worth commenting on. I am assuming that some will have lacked the words to describe the grotesqueness and resorted to pointing at those prices.

This is a want mimicked by many many players in Eve. CCP have had a really hard time implementing Avatar based content for various reasons.

Really you should have used the search function to find and support the many many many threads players have created to show their support for more development of the walking in stations stuff.

Despite the above, I support getting sleeve tattoos back in development. Anything to get CCP to see we do actually want Avatar content and they need to pull their collective fingers out and get started.

Yes to the second, no to the first screenshot. Let's face it, bright pink doesn't really fit in with the dark atmosphere of Eve. Nice editing there though.

The unsubbing wasn't about WiS. It was about delivering a feature that only worked for half the population of Eve, and not delivering any other feature at all for an entire expansion cycle. Hell, the players were already pissed the previous expansion was thin on features because of the work they put into it. The reason it took so long and so much resources was because they were developing an entire new engine to do it, Carbon, which you have been reaping the incredible benefits of since. On top of all that the Nex store was a laughing stock and frankly insulting, then there was the news letter "Greed is good" which was leaked.

Walking in Stations as an idea, had practically nothing to do with why everyone unsubbed. There was so much more going on that your conveniently ignoring to push your uninformed point of view.

No difference to PvP? Have you even read CCPs latest, on what they want to deliver next in terms of Avatar content? I am going to presume not. Link below to the OP of their thread about it.

just ignore him, hes completely set in not wanting anything to do with the avatar, and no one will change that.

frankly, if ccp statted work on WiS again with a small team, and he unsubbed, eve wold be better for it. if only because any and all content can and will attract more players, and if that means losing a few who refuse to like anything not DIRECTLY related to their playstyle, well be better off.

I was not talking about the FPS content, but about the tattoos and the other vanity stuff. But for the sake of arguing, what is so majorly different between shooting each other with spaceships and with avatars?

I do not think it is going to be different, but only more diverse and in a way I do not appreciate it. I wish I could say something silly like "If I wanted to play with dolls then I'd be playing game XYZ". Only do I not know of any games where I could do this, because of my lack of interest for these. I play EVE because of it being a space simulation, but not because I can sit for hours in front of asteroids mining or to crawl around in dungeons. Instead will I protest again if CCP insists on bringing it.

Nothing, the only thing that is useful about an avatar at the moment is that you can make your character look unique.

First of all, Eve is clearly not an Simulator. If you want to play space simulators, play Kerbal space program or something like that.
second, Every one has his/her own way to play this game.

and third, I usually don't care if someone is protesting about an subject, but you sir are just whining over and over, and it would be nice if you can respect my and others opinion about my post. I do respect yours, but I think it is getting a little bit of a drama now... No offense intended though (:

I am not protesting, but explaining my position because for me did the subject die some time ago and with it the drama that was Incarna. I want no further drama either! I was then just asking what difference it makes as part of this thread and because there is or seems to be a need for some to discuss the idea.

Fine, YOU dont ahve to pvp in avatars, but why should what YOU want, keep CCP from ADDINg content (read ADDING, not taking away your ability to do ANYTHING ANYWHERE) for people that DO want to pvp with avatars?
