Character Changed Account Notification

Hello,

the CCP rules say:
Quote:
The new owner of the character may NOT pass himself off as any previous owner.

So, several characters getting sold every day, and as the buyer, you have to tell everyone : "No, I'm a new one, please read this selling thread."
This annoys me, and also "bad" carreers can result in a reject from a Corporation, even though you aren't the former owner.

My suggestion: Please mark the date, when the character changed the account, maybe in corporation history.

I personally like the idea of simply wiping out the corp history for resold accounts.

Build your own friggin corp history instead of leveraging off someone else's accomplishments.

So if you can not pass yourself off as the previous owner, then here is one big question, why doesn't CCP let you rename a bought character?

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

I don't know. But if ccp doesn't do that, maybe ccp will be interested in some kind of "Character gains a new Owner" notification.

Also easily abused.

I would also like, that Eve-Mails are deleted after transfer. You shall not pretend to be the former owner, but you can have every "last" Corporation/Alliance mail, if the previous owner did not delete it, and deleted the trash. Also needs to be fixed.

Put it in your bio.
Add a link to the thread on the Character Bazaar.
Tell people manually in any form of communication you like.

You Choseā„¢ to buy a character and ALL the issues that would come with it. Why should CCP suffer because you want to buy a skilled character?

Thank you.

I don't think that "suffer" is the right term, when it comes to logical consequences from own rules.

Look at it from CCP's view. They like character transfers. More PLEX bought for transfer fees. More character re-sculpting.

Anything to help expedite and cleans the character transfer process, and rid identity abuse, only serves to help CCP.

Also, renaming a character for a PLEX is a great idea. I have a horribly-named second character. It's a long story.

I agree with this.

Possibly be used by people trying to whitewash a characters bad reputation, but I would take that drawback if i could see when a character was sold.

Jint Hikaru - Miner / Salvager / Explorer / SpaceBum In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

I would like to see a special NPC corp to appear in the employment history of characters that have moved between accounts.

also you do not go around telling everyone that you are new owner, just link the thread in your bio.

Here, sanity... niiiice sanity, come to daddy... okay, that's a good sanity... THWONK! GOT the bastard.

I think a link in the bio, and a corp history entry that indicates the character was bought/sold.

I believe in maintaining the character's history though... When you buy a character, you get all the pro's and con's of the character's history, and I think that should be maintained! In other words, NO to Tabula Rasa... it would be abused!!!

That could be true. I think CCP should change the way, how they think about "changing the owner". If you're podded, all your information from your implants are sent in subspace to your clone. Maybe a owner-change could be some kind of "wrong information." You wake up in another clone, your skill-implants still work, but your memory is erased.
