Our alliance Teamspeak server went down. Tackler had to type "drooooop" in fleet chat for hot drop. Too quiet.

Someone suggested using Eve Voice, however it doesn't appear to work w/ Fleet or Alliance channels. Epic Fail.

Ummm .... eve voice

... EVE Voice is an in-game real-time voice communication tool allowing channels and fleets to use voice chat ...

You just need to join the fleet voice channel. You can do it from the fleet window. I'm curious though, if the web version is working at all.

One of a lot of dumb things CCP does.

Instead of joining the eve voice fleet channel for the chat window like you do in every other chat channel when your in fleet you have to go to the fleet window (not chat) and select the channel you want from the speakers listed in the upper right of the window. (\0/ for run on sentences)

Now sure, since you can join Fleet, Wing or Squad audio you need to be able to select which channel you want, that does not preclude making joining the Fleet channel the default when you join from the fleet chat window.

This issue is a HUGE PITA when trying to get people, like yourself, to use Eve voice fro the first time.

Eve-voice is pretty featureless and the codec quality is pretty poor as well. When I first got into the game I used it. But after a while, using other people's TS's I realized TS, mumble, vent for all superior alternatives that you couldn't live without.

Don't ban me, bro!

^^ Something that a member of our group put together (he can reveal himself on here for proper credit if he chooses) so that we had an easier way to tell people how to join fleet audio. My belated thank you to CCP for changing the way fleet audio works, which has made it more difficult to get groups together for various purposes throughout Eve. Eve, more than any other game, with its free-form nature and suspicious playerbase, should have a robust, basic, in-game audio that is easy to set up, intuitive to use, and well-supported by the company.

Boiglio Cool

*Member of a group that uses Eve Voice as its primary form of voice communication on a daily basis
*Instructor of classes conducted over Eve Voice audio
*Proud member of what was probably the only team in the New Eden Open to use Eve Voice for its fleet communications (ha!)

Did you try having everyone activate the FLEET-WIDE VOICE CHANNEL?

or did you not know that there are *THREE* voice channels for the fleet and *TWO* for other channels?
