Logistics with T2 manufacturing at Jita

Currently maxed out T1 manufacturing, planning on getting into invention and building off them to sell. Current setup is just buy minerals required for BPC off Jita market, get someone to haul it to a nearby system (usually within 1 - 2 jumps), and then once done get another hauler to send back to Jita for me to sell.

With Tech 2 manufacturing obviously there is more to it, as I plan on building from scratch which is going to require a lot of BPO's for the components I am just wondering how to go about this efficiently.

Within 5 - 10 jumps I can find stations that have a bunch of slots open all the time (the ones I manufacture off currently change day to day), should I set up a POS and buy an office there, do all my work and then haul it to Jita? I have the trade skill to sell from several jumps so I should be able to sell without ever being in Jita I think?

Any advice?

Move some more jumps out of jita (another region; gallente maybe) and look for a station with usually 30-50 open manufacturing slots.

Why would I need 30 - 50? I can only use 10.

Beware of the T2 production from scratch. Beside the huge logistics it requires, the margins for the construction components are so low that they are usually being sold at below cost.

You want tocheck that in every batch you build, making the logistics complicated as hell.

If you want to produce T2 from 0-100 you´ll need one or two alts to produce everything needed.

Yes...yes I see what you mean, I'd need two alts churning out components basically 24/7 and another to build the actual item...

Okay I guess I underestimated this little venture, I'll just worry about finding a decent location and look into buying components direct.

Thanks!

If you can't make a profit manufacturing the components, just buy them.

If you can't make a profit on the items, without manufacturing the components yourself, check your overall math, because your isk/hr might be lower than expected.

aside from that, some components are a gold mine. Not that I make to sell. I just make to manufacture with, but paying attention to the isk/hr at each stage. If it's low, I just buy.

Woo! CSM XI!
