Black-hole wormholes

Let me just say if you dont live in a wormhole you probably think who cares, but let me just way everyone who lives in a wormhole knows that these systems are garbage for everything.

Just imageine what you might do on a normal day?

Pew?
Rat?
Mine?
Suck gas?
Manufacture?
trade?

Well black hole is bad for all of it, the only think it is maybe good at is hiding from bounty hunters in :D

The affects of a black hole are below

Black Hole Class 1 Class 2 Class 3 Class 4 Class 5 Class 6
Inertia Multiplier 1.25 1.44 1.55 1.68 1.85 2.00
Max Range Multiplier 0.90 0.81 0.73 0.66 0.59 0.50
Falloff Modifier 0.90 0.81 0.73 0.66 0.59 0.50
Missile Velocity Multiplier 0.90 0.81 0.73 0.66 0.59 0.50
Maximum velocity multiplier 1.25 1.44 1.55 1.68 1.85 2.00
Control range multiplier 0.90 0.81 0.73 0.66 0.59 0.50

Why would somewon occupy a wormhole is the question here?

The majority of people occupy a wormhole that can supply them with ISK in a constant supply, some people farm isk with no other goal in mind and others farm it to fund their PvP activities.

Most PvP in wormholes in non-consensual. One group catches another bearing and ganks them, somewon invades another wormhole out of butthurt or to take a more valuble system affect.

Black holes simply offer nothing to anyone, infact they make it hard to PvP, make capital escalations worse isk than veldspar mining, make miners and gas harvesters more vulnerable due to the longer align times. Almost all black-holes are unocupied for these reasons.

I know 'scientifically' or lore wise living in a black hole solar system would not be pleasent. The mass of a black hole disrupts gravity (CCP interptirted this as making weapons less affective and aligning to warp slower)

I suggest they change the affects to something else, something not seen in other wormholes.

Maybe some of the following:

smaller d-scan range
higher ore/gas yield
stronger ship sensor strength (faster locking and more resistant to jams)
better refining stats of ore/gas (currently no system effects affect pos's but they used too in the old days so it should be possible)

Essentially I am trying to make it more attractive for miners and industrialists. Wormholes do not have any stats that benifit them directly.

I enjoy taking a MWD inty into a BH system and tool around at crazy speeds.

Otherwies I agree, they stink.

I have flown around in a nano-tengu which was quite viabe in there since it still had about 65k range and 4k speed without heat :D

If any type of wormhole has to utterly suck, it makes sense that it'd be the "black hole" type

for the most part you are correct but I can see some Niche uses

for example a C1 black hole is the hardest system in the game to assault(all things being equal) a POS, you've got 10% less lock range and 10% less falloff range, on top of that POS guns are not effected by those two statistics, which means it is literally impossible for any T3 battle-cruiser to get out of the range of faction ECM, put up like 3/3/2/1 hardeners and 40 faction ECM batteries and I don't know of anyone who has the time or isk to waste on taking you out

because of the low value and undesirability of such system (for the reasons you listed) a C1 blackhole is ideal for setting up a large POS that won't be bothered by anyone, add that to the fact that you can build your own carrier in triage mode there and you are almost unassailable. Basically that POS is not going anywhere.

the velocity increase would make blockade runners far more effective (3,000 km/s for 14.4 seconds MWD) would get you like 50km in the first 20 seconds enough to run even a T2 large bubble very quickly, also all of your scanning ships and ventures should have nanofiber internal structure to take additional advantage of the speed boost and to compensate for the slower warp times

basically large structures in blackhole's are very hard to take down, without battleships damn near impossible

I agree completely (and i dont think med/large pos's should be allowed in c1 anyway but thats another thread)

But even if you argue that Black Holes are hard to assault (which you are completely right about) that still doesn't give a reason to be in them. They do literally everything worse than even a no-effect wormhole.

Unless i guess you are happy to accept that you will make less isk doing everything for the benefit of never getting invaded but as i understand it, c1 evictions are very rare indeed due to the difficulty in bringing down a large pos with only battle cruisers.

Back before they fixed it, you used to have 250km optimal blasterboats to farm sleepers with when you td yourself. But alas, good things don't last forever. What?
