Redistribution of stations (and their agents, skillsets and such)

Jita, Rens and a few other major hubs are trade hubs because of history but usually because of their proximity to certain services. Close to Rens we have sources for most skill books, blue prints, security missions I-IV. Which makes it a natural trade hub. However we, the players, can't change that. In hi-sec we can't coax stations and their services to places of our choosing even if we wanted to and even if we were willing to work for it.

It would be very nice if stations were movable or downgradeable and upgradeable. If a part of space is little used, then the agent there would decrease in value. But if they were used, they would increase in value. Let us attract better mission agents. Let us attract R&D agents (or their replacement).

Now that said, there has to be some capacity and benefits that's don't degrade because otherwise there would be an even greater concentration of resources than there are now. Some things, like asteroid belts don't move. Some places are just a hotbed of pirate activity. So perhaps each system would have a baseline score for security, industry and other statistics that would affect how low or hi it could go and how quickly. This would still give CCP a great deal of control over where things go.

Ultimately it would be nice to make more parts of high-sec viable to live in. Heimatar has Rens because of places like Frarn and Illinfrik. Derelik does't because you can't get the skill books and there aren't four levels of missions all within one jump of each other, plus a SoE station for their LP store.

The play and cost mechanism I will leave unspecified. It'll have to solved, but I think this idea will make EVE a more dynamic place.

Jita is pretty close to the centre of the map, its at the merging point of 3 regions and damn close to several others.

Move skill books around.all you want, players will buy the, ship the to Jita and sell them there.

You also seem to have got how "livable" systems work all backwards.

The reason some systems are less inhabited is because they are unattractive, poor resources, agents and services.
That will not change.

If you move all these services around, all that will happen is people will leave the systems that have become **** and move to greener pastures. They are not going to stay to improve an area they do not own.

This sort of idea is one of the things null should be about.

Large patches of Amar highsec have no stations. You're often alone in local, quieter than null. Some parts of Caldari have 2 dozen stations in the same system. Take a station out of the later, give it to the former.P

Ultimately, a POS revamp could achieve that sort of thing without needing to move stations.
