Event in a nutshell

Thanks for the event! Was very amusing and fun just to see RPers all at one place. Midna Lyre and Vincent Aslo were amusing Smile

I also enjoyed this. Just happened to see an announcement on twitter from eve live events, that someone would be speaking in villore, which is where I am currently docked. So I quickly logged in to check it out. Events like this really make the game world come alive for me, and is like nothing I have seen in any other game. Thank you for the work you put into these events and keep up the good work.

On a side note, I noticed several people(in character) asking one of the live event role players for an autograph (the live event role player was playing a musician). I though it would be quite nice for in game items like copies of autographs, to be given to people at some events like these, for collectors items etc.

Yes thank you CCP for an event that didn't involve death or cause massive goon bitching...the messages in local where most amusing and enjoyable to read...

Tien's suggesting of little ingame items such as signed models could be a good idea when you get more extensive Live Event tools.

It was also nice to see that not everyone blindly shouting loyalist rants as was seen at the Tribal delegation but more sided views.

Also Falcon may need to check which actor he's using, that was funny :)

Heinlein is rolling in his grave right now. And if I'd known Midna Lyre was going to be there, I would have shown up. :(

(Edit)Addition:To the Live Events team, from what I read, this sounded like a pretty good event. I think that this is a good example of how a live event doesn't have to involve shooting, so long as it's heavy on other interaction. Not that shooting is bad, mind you.

That totally wasn't me. P

But yes, the team are very glad you guys enjoyed the event. We have so much fun putting these together and love to see the reaction to them.

It was frightening playing such a high profile character again after playing Shakor at the last event, but it's challenging and very fun at the same time Big smile

Yeah, this was a pretty awesome event. The way that washed-up gameshow host Vincent Aslo was endorsing the Black Eagles was utterly, utterly cheesy and it was so brilliant. Lol

Yeah, I was totally the one who mixed up Midna and Vincent. Midna's my baby, I'm never letting anyone play her but me!

I had the same realisation. Should we send someone to check on Midna to make sure she's ok?

What's this? We're getting a "Someone assassinated Midna" story arc? P

I will be most upset if she's dead. A Sani Sabik pop idol is the only reason I still play this game.

As far as I understand it (take in mind that this was told to me by another player, and did not come from a member of the CCP Live Events staff, so take it with a pinch of salt), IA only lets the live events team have a set number of event actors at once, so one-shot characters (such as Vincent Aslo) and "scenery" characters (such as the various FIO pilots who were running around in carriers and recon cruisers outside station) who are no longer needed are Doomheimed to free up slots for characters in future events.

While I understand why this system is in place, I do mourn the deaths of Anderes Duellene, Moose Echerain, Assoi Gilotta and Vielan Hallaere, who were and forever will be the best and funniest freighter pilots in the galaxy. Godspeed, you magnificent bastards.

Yes, we do have an upper limit on the number of accounts/character slots we have when we're organizing live events.

This is for internal auditing purposes to make sure that the accounts are being used correctly and within the working agreement that we have set out.

This means of course that we do have to recycle characters. However we do keep note of who's who and who's where so that should we need to bring up a character again for storyline reasons we can do so.

Just because people vanish off the radar, it doesn't mean they're dead. They're just out of the public eye.

Big smile
