You guys got it wrong. It's "Soon™".

The only recent info on drone UI came in the CSM summit notes, where it was mentioned in passing (see pages 75 and 96). There may be more news incoming at Fanfest.

In other words, no, there is no set plan as it has not been discussed in a devblog or even discussed at length by CCP within Features & Ideas Discussion, but CCP is aware of the problem and it will be addressed at some point.

I know there is an algorithm somewhere that can quantify statements like that to prove that absolutely no information is expressed.
