Anyone figured out a way to delete it yet without damaging EVE? Twisted

Would give me immense satisfaction. Blink

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

And that's about the closest I'll ever get to be funny on these forums too. Smile

You do realise that you can spin your ship now and you don't have to look at CQ?

Funny how things like CQ which doesn't have to affect you at all seems to make a difference to you even when you don't have to look at it. Obsessed much?

Yes and no to be honest, since i use SSD's for the O/S and the games i play most often, so having the eve client installed and those CQ files are just taking up room in the SSD's for no reason since i don't use them, and SSD's are quite a bit more expensive than regular hard drives and offer less storage space, so having a client update without the CQ files wouldn't be a bad idea....

The CG wouldn't even be a gb worth. The game is over 4gb and you're worried about a bit extra? That's a lame excuse. I know those SSD drives are small but they aren't that small. I hope your ssd drive is close to the 256 gb range, the smaller than 100gb drives just aren't worth it.

Well, the only ones that are starting to become more affordable are up to 120 GB in size(around 250~300$ each).......That kind of money easily buys 3 TERRA byte hard disks, so close to 30 times larger in capacity...

I got a pair of 120 GB ones that cost me 600$, and once formatted, the capacity is just 223 GB between both......I use a pair of terrabyte hard drives for stuff i use much less often...

I high lighted the terra portion to make a point first of all, and secondly, since the CQ portion is effectively on hold for quite a while until it's further developed sometime in the future, there's no point in having it there, thirdly, you obviously do since you replied but i'm guessing it's mostly being envious and fourth, i just explained the reasons why so there's no trolling involved...

See it's kinda funny when i first bought eve way back in 2003, it was only a 400MB install and now it's 10x larger and a portion of it is on hold indefinetly, so while i fully realise that it would involve testing a build of the client without the CQ feature integrated, i've seen far more rediculous requests over the last 8 1/2 years i've been playing the game(non stop if you're wondering).

Flash drives are much slower than SSD's to begin with, even though they use the same type of memory that SSD's do, but the SSD's use the SATA protocol(SATA 3.0 AT 600 MB/sec) and they gang multiple channels into a single controler(usually 8 channels grouped together), rather than the single channel on a USB stick, So USB sticks are no where near as fast as an SSD.

Then i take the next step and raid a pair of them in raid 0, wich increases sustained transfer speeds reading large contiguous files to nearly 1 GB/sec , and makes the system boot in 10 secs flat, and loading any applications or games is several times faster than with any hard drive, so once you actually try it for yourself, there is no way to ever go back to a regular hard drive or even a pair of them in raid 0...Big smile

CQ killed my graphics card. Now on the old card, the log in screen takes ages to load and yes, memory usage for the whole client has gone way up.

Does EVE cache at all?
