I'm a little shocked that Andski bothered posting in this thread, I had a higher opinion of you bro.

Heres a little helpful information, the Devs ALWAYS have used special things in live events. When we fought (and killed) their fleets in a 3 hour battle last year they had 20 implants in clones we killed (the second 10 implants being very impressive hardware that made them hard as hell to kill).

Its just a thing you have to expect to deal with encountering dev fleets, ships that take the sustained fire of 150 rokhs but still manage to die eventually, and the unfortunate part is that this time they were in High Sec, where you couldn't bring as much force to bear.


This thread reads like you set up your day to ruin the role players fun, then didn't count on the extra add ons that all the live actors have in these events, got slaughtered because in high sec you have one chance to get it right, and now are angry posting about it.


Next time you'll prep better and have more ships on hand than the few you had knowing that your target will have the standard issue Dev gear that they nearly ALWAYS (and by nearly I mean I've never seen one without it) have.

Here's a question. A lot of discussion seems to be based around the high sec gank. With the new dueling system that makes it possible to create limited engagements between pilots, how about for fleets? Suppose that Heth--who needs to die--decides to tour somewhere. A call goes out to loyal Caldari (you know, all five of them) to come and defend Heth, where the fleet boss is a CN actor. Sin, our favorite whiskey drinking Guri-puts out a call to anyone that wants to kill Heth to show up and join her fleet. Use whatever plot device you wish to explain why CONCORD is elsewhere (I prefer Jovian nanites) and the two actors create a limited engagement between the fleet. Battle ensues. In this case, who cares if Heth is flying in a State Issued Rokh that has 2m ehp? It's not going to be alpha'd, but if can be blown up by the attackers, and the defenders can use logistics. Everyone matters, everyone has a chance to participate and change the event.

I do not code. Heck, I barely know engrish and even then not that gud. I have no idea how hard this would be to implement, just offering it as a suggestion. It might also work out for players as well that want to do an arena type match or some such.

So what's going to happen now, is this thread is going to get locked. This is due to the fact it's degenerated into trolling and personal attacks.

The points that have been made here have been received loud and clear, and we're working on further evolving live events as we go, based on the feedback you guys have given us.
