Multiple Training Queues

Hey all,

I had an idea the other day about allowing multiple training queues on a single account.

To me it seems almost pointless having 3 character slots and not allowing them all to train at the same time, however I also understand that having 3 queues would be a little over the top in the grand scheme of things... Thus my idea:

Why not allow multiple queues but introduce a penalty. For example:

First queue - Trains at a normal rate only dependent on attributes, implants etc.
Second queue - Taking in consideration attributes and implants but then adding a further multiplier say x 3
Third queue - Attributes, implants and say a multiplier of x 7

The figures I'm just pulling out as an example, it would need deeper consideration to decide what would be appropriate. This way I figured you can slowing but surely build all three characters but without having the issue of quick rising 3 man armies.

Thank you for your time,

As opposed to the current, faster pace of training every toon at 3x?

There are many uses for those additional character slots. You eithere have special purpose characters in them, that are quick to train for or you use them for additional characters you bought from other players. Point being they are highly useful to have. You can also always buy multiple accounts, if you want to train multiple characters at the same time.

As for the multiple training queue idea, this seems like a bad way to implement it. The most obvious way is to activate full speed training of additional characters by paying more to CCP. Additional 10 bucks for 30 days of training on a second character on a account for example. This way you'll get to train all the characters, if you're willing to pay for the privilage. No fear of sudden explosion of high SP characters, since the cost/training ratio will stay close to what it is today. Just more convenience and options in how you can go about training your alts.

The thing I have issue with, is the reduction in cost. I don't think you should be paying less for training a character. I for one would take advantage of this and reduce my payments to CCP.

So as I believe the payment should be the same price, if not plex only. Then we think why would people pay the same, to get less? They wouldn't. So we are back to having a second account again, which anyone can do now.

I can't think of any other MMO, that allows you to train all your character at the same time.

well on the bright side under this scheme a falcon alt will take ages to roll.

And if an idiot were dumb enough to use this method when done they'd go aww crap...the falcon alt and the main have to fly at the same time, doh.

Multi-boxing.

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.

I don't think you actually read, what I said.

I don't know about some of you in this thread, but I'm not paying CCP $15/month to train my main. I'm paying them for the ability to train and to play my main at the same time.

For $15/month, you get the ability to train your alts and play them at the same time as your main.

For $10/month per alt, you get the ability to train up to two alts, but you can't play them at the same time as your main.

I'm not sure how this is at all unreasonable. A lot of people use their alts for purposes that require separate accounts. Those people will continue to maintain multiple accounts. Other people who don't have alts because they don't need two pilots online at once, but could benefit from a specialized second character, may be persuaded to pay the money for that second (or even third) training queue, which would result in more money for CCP.

In response to "I cannot think of any other MMO that allows you to train more than one character" I'll say this:
I cannot think of any other MMO that allows you to train your skills while offline.

EDIT: Oh, wait. I did think of an MMO. Vindictus, as terrible as it is, allows (painfully slow) passive offline training of all the characters on your account simultaneously, via a skill you pick up very early in the game.

So nothing of any consequence and the fact that they allow you to progress you character while you're offline, is a plus.

Glad we agree.
